  1. Except DD interviewed him for the job Sunday, didn't he?
  2. Think Jeter would have the stones to trade him to the Sox and incur the wrath of some Yankee fans?
  3. Not right now, because of the injury risk factor.
  4. Betts, Benintendi, Devers were zombies who don't care about winning? You're too far over the top to take seriously.
  5. I agree, bad strategy.
  6. It has to be very tricky, even for the managers, who have more info about it than anybody.
  7. Yes, the Recency Effect is large.
  8. Stanton is a big talent, maybe a consistent .900 OPS guy if he stays healthy. But he won't be averaging any 60 HR's a year. MLB might even look to deaden the baseball or something...not everyone was thrilled about the big spike in HR's this year.
  9. Who knows. You have to say we really did catch lightning in a bottle in 2013, considering what happened to those guys after that (aside from Koji).
  10. Well, yeah, if we had Lackey and we didn't sign Pablo and Hanley and if Ben didn't play 'Who's the Ace', a lot of things might have been different...
  11. Ain't that the truth. And Shaughnessy is a consummate knight of the keyboard. (Love that expression.)
  12. Pure supposition.
  13. Where'd Lackey rank 2014-2016?
  14. Too little too late though.
  15. OK. But it was still a lousy trade. And Lackey was vastly better than any of our 'Who's the Ace' crew in 2015. My sense is that you just don't like the guy.
  16. Ben's career as a GM is a tough one to assess. But I'm somewhat of the belief now that he was never really comfortable being a GM. I think he likes being in the background a little more.
  17. Good post...and I really like the wheelbarrow metaphor.
  18. I made a comment similar to this a few months ago. Having given it some further thought, I would say that Price would definitely get more latitude for being abusive toward TM or DS, but he wouldn't necessarily get a free pass to say and do whatever he wanted. It would all depend on the circumstances. TM and DS are human beings too (LOL).
  19. Yasiel Puig has to be the most, umm... 'flamboyant' baseball player I've ever seen.
  20. Classic sour grapes LOL
  21. I certainly agree about Theo, but I'm not sure there's enough evidence to say exactly how Ben operates. If Larry was making so many moves, then Ben was kind of a puppet. And it's important to note that Ben has not had any other experience as a GM to evaluate him on.
  22. It's an endless duel of wits between pitchers and hitters. I love it. There are some real similarities to rock/paper/scissors.
  23. No one should hold Porcello's 2016 season against him. But his 2015 and 2017 seasons were certainly big disappointments.
