  1. The question, though, is whether a quick hook can sometimes win you a game.
  2. I don't know, Cleveland looks the best team in baseball and they were 5-2 against the Yankees this year. But anything can happen.
  3. Theo's 2011 draft didn't?
  4. Might that be an example of a managerial move that could make a difference?
  5. Thanks jacko. It wasn't easy. We can all relax tomorrow now and get ready for the postseason.
  6. We can't let it come to that. We have to end this today.
  7. The new wild card system didn't start until 2012.
  8. Next question: are the Yankees the only team that's been given permission to do this?
  9. Whoever our 3 is, somebody has to stop pushing the Suck button.
  10. Cano should age well. He seems like a strong physical specimen. And he has conserved his energy over the years not running out routine grounders.
  11. Yom Kippur, I kid you not. We figured it out earlier today.
  12. No, I know Station...I'm being a wiseass because of some statements others have made.
  13. I assume the regulars are just going to play a few innings since the division is all wrapped up now.
  14. OP's usually try to be positive.
  15. Edgar Martinez should be in the Hall. One of the worst omissions, really. Frank Thomas kicked open the door for DH's, IMO.
  16. Don't forget that Marco missed almost the entire season this year. He's probably got his work cut out just to get back to major league game shape.
  17. Personally, I think Farrell is going to try to win this one, and I think that's probably a good idea. But I don't want to sound like a Chicken Little.
  18. So you think we're just going to mail it in tonight?
  19. It was a little different situation for us last night as Houston jumped out to a big lead early. The Yankees had a lead. You could argue either way, I guess...but I'm sure glad Girardi played it the way he did.
  20. I don't understand why he didn't have his best relievers lined up. The 3 previous games were blowouts for the Yankees. And he could see that we were getting hammered. Strange.
  21. This is the reason the Yankee game is in the afternoon today? Wow. Is it because there is such a large Jewish population in New York?
  22. I don't think anyone's upset, just arguing as usual, in this case about the contention that Marco is 'offensively about the same if not a little bit better than Pedroia going forward'.
  23. And Yay Girardi...Joe managed last night's game like he wanted to lose it.
  24. Good question.
  25. Some Yankee fans are in a bit of an uproar over how Girardi managed last night's game. For unknown reasons he went to his B relievers in spite of having won the 3 previous games 11-3, 6-1 and 6-1.
