  1. Good post...and I really like the wheelbarrow metaphor.
  2. I made a comment similar to this a few months ago. Having given it some further thought, I would say that Price would definitely get more latitude for being abusive toward TM or DS, but he wouldn't necessarily get a free pass to say and do whatever he wanted. It would all depend on the circumstances. TM and DS are human beings too (LOL).
  3. Yasiel Puig has to be the most, umm... 'flamboyant' baseball player I've ever seen.
  4. Classic sour grapes LOL
  5. I certainly agree about Theo, but I'm not sure there's enough evidence to say exactly how Ben operates. If Larry was making so many moves, then Ben was kind of a puppet. And it's important to note that Ben has not had any other experience as a GM to evaluate him on.
  6. It's an endless duel of wits between pitchers and hitters. I love it. There are some real similarities to rock/paper/scissors.
  7. No one should hold Porcello's 2016 season against him. But his 2015 and 2017 seasons were certainly big disappointments.
  8. Atlanta had one this year, arguably, R. A. Dickey. He and Porcello are the most unlikely Cy Young winners of recent years, I would say.
  9. Baseball-Reference has the major league splits for the results of AB's where the batter swung at the first pitch vs. took the first pitch: Swung at it: 270/295/449 = 743 OPS Took it: 249/336/416 = 752 OPS
  10. Personally I'm just tired of it and would love not to hear about it any more. From a PR standpoint at least, Price & Farrell should have realized they were dealing with a very popular figure and apologized. Now let's just move on from it.
  11. DD says no surgeries this offseason (except for the forgotten Scott)!
  12. Jansen is amazing.
  13. Yep. J D Martinez would only cost money, so there's a good case for that...
  14. It's an area in which we could clearly stand to improve, I think. Abreu might be a really good get.
  15. Yes, this series is a long long way from over.
  16. basement benny bequeathed primo prospects, pitiful pitchers, crippling contracts.
  17. I'll take the Dodgers. I think Dave Roberts makes a difference there. They might have the better bullpen as well. Cubs pen is looking a little iffy.
  18. I'm guessing you were a big fan of basement benny.
  19. How is Machado number one in clutch?
  20. My post was strictly about Dombrowski.
  21. So what position do you have Martinez playing?
  22. The last time the Red Sox won consecutive AL pennants, of course, was 1915-1916. 2016-2017 is the only time they've ever won division titles two years in a row.
  23. Of course there's no actual evidence of a 'fractured' clubhouse. But we all know how much fun it can be playing guessy-guessy.
  24. and D) won the division for the second year in a row following two last-place finishes.
  25. You have a good sense of humor for a Yankee fan.
