    We can't judge everything based on one offseason though. Philosophies can change quickly. And right at the end of this one Alex Cobb signed a deal that was for even more than predicted, when it looked like he was going to have to settle for a small one.

    I am very hopeful that Boone is a doofus, and he sure looked like one yesterday, leaving poor Betances in for 40 pitches and total humiliation. I am very hopeful that Cora is going to be an excellent manager.

    Here's a question: why is Tropicana Field such a hard place to score runs? Is it just the park dimensions? I wonder if it also has to do with the terrible-looking optics of the place and/or the atmospheric conditions etc.

    7.1 of the IP were covered by 2 guys, which makes it sort of a piggyback game. It's interesting if nothing else. As someone cynically pointed out, when you're a team with no chance like the Rays you can experiment.
