    He's definitely looked better. You can tell Cora is still cautious about using him too much though. That could change.

    I really don't think Cora or the team want Barnes to be the 8th inning guy on a consistent basis. If we're lucky, by the end of the year we'll have Thornburg, Smith and Kelly pitching well and they'll be getting those 8th inning gigs ahead of Barnes.

    It's certainly a valid concern, but the metrics seem to be saying he's no worse than Moose, maybe a little better.

    Not many in the last 20 years or so, I'd guess. Rivera had piles of them when you include the postseason. Andrew Miller has had a lot of 5 out holds, I think, since joining Cleveland.

    Moose signing for what he did was an absolute freak. No one saw that coming, nothing close to that. And he re-signed with the team he has played for his whole career. There's no way of knowing how much more another team might have had to pay to move him out of KC.

    I don't really consider giving up a sac fly with no outs as a failure. He got tagged with a blown save for it, which points out how silly the stat is.

    When your team is 26-11 and in a death battle for the division it's not really the time to do a bunch of experimenting. Swihart hasn't had many chances, but when he does get one he fails to capitalize. He will get some more chances.
