  1. Well, you were right that we should have traded him before this injury. That's about it, though.
  2. Last year was another example of the playoffs being a crapshoot. Cleveland came into the playoffs on one of the greatest rolls any team has ever been on. After the ASB they were 55-20 with a run differential of +180. Bounced in the first round.
  3. In the context of your body of work about him, sure.
  4. All offenses have their ups and downs. I think we'll end up in the top 5.
  5. This is silly. We're at least going to make it to a Wild Card game. If we do and we advance, we have a good shot with starters like Sale, Price, Porcello and possibly Wright, and hitters like Betts, JD and Bogaerts. It's not like a team has to be hitting on all cylinders to win it all. You just have to win each series.
  6. mvp was just being nasty toward Pedroia, as is his custom.
  7. As moon might say, if we trade JBJ right now we're going to miss his hot streak.
  8. Gahbage time. Nice for a change.
  9. I'd take him out at 7-0. Maybe not at 5-0.
  10. You are a victim of your own smear dept.
  11. Yep, and caused home runs to escalate as well.
  12. OK top of the order. Here we go.
  13. The threshold is f'ked. And I mean the $237 million threshold. Can't get that much for a quarter billion these days.
  14. 4-0 NYY in the first. Ugly days.
  15. Yeah, Pedroia has never cared that much about playing baseball.
  16. I think your math is a little iffy. He needed 302 more PA's and there are 87 games left.
  17. There's only so much DD can do. We need a bat, we need a 2B and we probably need a reliever. And as you know he doesn't have a lot to work with. But I'm sure he'll do something soon. I think JH will ultimately give the go-ahead to blow past the 237 million, penalties and all.
  18. That's true, but the oblique may still be bothering him.
  19. That was one depressing night at the ballparks.
  20. It's also possible that Hanley's agent has gotten a call or two but that Hanley wasn't interested in that particular team. He's going to collect 22 million whether he's playing or at home, so you can understand why he might not just jump at any opportunity.
  21. We need some realistic expectations here. I'll settle for Lowrie and a late-inning reliever, I guess.
  22. This has actually been a pretty good discussion.
  23. I could spin doctor some answers to this: 1) The last 24 games included 4 games each in Houston and Seattle! 1) Our offense started dipping in May, and Hanley was a big part of that! 2) Our offense took a hit when Mookie went on the DL and he doesn't appear to be back to 100% yet!
