    Nobody averages 7 innings a start anymore. Sale led the majors in IP at 214 last year - 6.7 per start. If ERod can average 6 that would be great.

    I normally agree with that sentiment about being spoiled. But you have to admit the results of the Cherington years were flat-out weird, especially 2012-2014. 69-93 (worst record since 1965) Championship 71-91 (2nd worst record since 1965)

    It's also fair to point out that the 235 million includes 55 million of dead money for Hanley, Pablo and Pedroia inherited by DD.

    Hellickson was on the DL a month, just came off and got bombed. The point is, each one of these guys with the possible exception of Moose carried a lot of risk. Was DD supposed to fill his cart with them like it was the clearance section at Ball-Mart?
