We all know how the baseball free agent market works, Slash. Elite talent gets ridiculous paydays. Buch is not an elite talent, so the initial comparison was apples to oranges anyway. But mvp's 3 times the pitcher is about right.
Correct, but that was when there were only 2 divisions in each league. When they expanded to 3 divisions in each league they added the wild card.
The problem with 3 divisions in each league is that you have some weak divisions and cheap winners.
There's no justice in a team winning a division with 85 wins while a team with 100 wins plays a Wild Card game.
It's not a good system.
Too risky to trade E-Rod even before Wright hit the DL. Our starting pitching has been relatively healthy so far this year but that could change suddenly and we don't have that much depth.
There's certainly no need for it. But I assume it makes money and there must be enough fan interest to generate that money.
