The fan interference controversies in baseball could easily be prevented if they left a little space between the walls and the first row of seats. There's no interference in other sports. Of course no changes will be made because it would cost $$$

Hey STORK. Just for fun I thought I'd reproduce a few of your choice comments after the Sox won the ALDS. "This is bound to piss off many blind Red Sox fans since after beating the Yankees I no longer care what happens the rest of the way. Good luck to the good guys in white and red. Benintendi will never be a serious player , weak arm and no bat when it counts. The offense could not produce a single run since the 4th inning. Astros will own these guys in the ALCS, but nice to make an appearance."

Machado is there for me too. Reputation-wise he's got 2 strikes against him now. 1) He's a dirty player. 2) He doesn't hustle all the time, he knows it and he doesn't apologize for it.

If the Sox get Machado, committing acts of thuggery against other teams’ players poses a potential threat to himself, and he'll then be a Sox infielder, so that's no solution.

Also, if Barnes or Brasier could do this routinely, they would be the closer. Quite possibly one of them will be next year.

Not as stressful, I would presume. But there's always the possibility of pinch hitters. And one guy reaches base and you're back to the top of the order. And they're still major league hitters and randomness and yada yada yada...

I don't think you can 'de-mystify' the 9th. Pitching the 9th with a 1-run or even a 2-run lead is always going to be stressful. Certainly a lot has been said, and even a little has been done, about using the best reliever in the truly critical situation, which can often occur before the 9th.

That all may be so. Let me say this. However Alex Cora deploys his relievers is probably about as good as you can do it. He's a good manager, I think, and he's got all the information at his disposal.

No, I wasn't questioning any of that. I'm mainly talking about the 27 pitches part. I think Hinch should have at least removed him after he hit Moreland.
