  1. Jim Abbott and John Costello
  2. We won that bullpen game 1-0 vs. Arizona when Sale was pushed back for the home opener.
  3. Per Alex Speier, a number of players are either sick or banged up, including Nunez. Nunez is 'available'.
  4. That's pretty silly too. Let's move on.
  5. Well, we didn't revive any lost souls in the playoffs last year.
  6. I think a pretty high percentage of both Yankee fans and Red Sox fans were very surprised by the Yankees offseason of financial restraint. Instead of signing Corbin they trade their top pitching prospect for Paxton.
  7. Let's not forget who Cashman's hand-picked manager was - the doofus. I think Cash's judgment in some areas is pretty questionable.
  8. Congratulations Tiger.
  9. As far as the 'Restgate' thing goes... Sabathia had a pretty good start for the Yanks yesterday, after not facing major league hitters for 6 months and all his health issues and so on. I think he had one rehab start in the minors? Just sayin'...
  10. Vazquez bumped his OPS from 597 to 756 yesterday BTW
  11. No, SCM33 is just a stubborn coot. He's not a troll like the other one.
  12. I made a $10 bet at 34 to 1 odds on Francesco Molinari, with our wonderfully easy to use government-run Pro-Line sports gambling service.
  13. Looks like there are some low numbers out there today!
  14. Lemahieu was a good move, but I don't think his acquisition precluded one of the others.
  15. Pearce is back. Sweet!
  16. And Corbin, Machado and Harper are all off to good starts. I think the Yankees really did blow it this offseason trying to be clever/thrifty instead of just going for the obvious.
  17. It's not the hitting coaches. It's the opposing pitchers. They're a bunch of miserable pricks.
  18. Spelling differences are fine, as long as the phonetics work.
  19. JBJ is just a hair below being an average hitter, based on his career 162 game averages: 236/315/402 OPS 717 OPS+ 91 HR 17 RBI 70 He has some dreadful cold spells. But also some torrid hot streaks-just ask the Astros!
  20. Here's a great science-fiction pairing: Eloy Jimenez Al Morlock I typed in Morlock on B-R not really expecting to get a match, but I was pleasantly surprised. (The Time Machine, if you had to ask...)
  21. That's a no-brainer.
  22. Rick Porcello 0-2 13.50 vs. Andrew Cashner 2-1 5.28 Game Time 1 PM. After all those West Coast Red Eye games, now we're getting 3 Early Bird Specials in a row. We're finally on a winning streak, let's make it a long one! Let's see Rick Porcello spruce up his stat line just as E-Rod did so nicely last night. A quick note on the Orioles starter: if his name has an odd ring to it, that's because he was the key piece traded by the ever-wily Theo Epstein to the gullible Padres for Anthony Rizzo back in 2012.
