I think a pretty high percentage of both Yankee fans and Red Sox fans were very surprised by the Yankees offseason of financial restraint. Instead of signing Corbin they trade their top pitching prospect for Paxton.

As far as the 'Restgate' thing goes... Sabathia had a pretty good start for the Yanks yesterday, after not facing major league hitters for 6 months and all his health issues and so on. I think he had one rehab start in the minors? Just sayin'...

JBJ is just a hair below being an average hitter, based on his career 162 game averages: 236/315/402 OPS 717 OPS+ 91 HR 17 RBI 70 He has some dreadful cold spells. But also some torrid hot streaks-just ask the Astros!

We're finally on a winning streak, let's make it a long one! Let's see Rick Porcello spruce up his stat line just as E-Rod did so nicely last night. A quick note on the Orioles starter: if his name has an odd ring to it, that's because he was the key piece traded by the ever-wily Theo Epstein to the gullible Padres for Anthony Rizzo back in 2012.
