  1. I thought he was great in Back to School, with a little bit of comedic acting involved.
  2. Cash probably should have signed Jose Iglesias instead.
  3. Unreal. What do you say to the Jays now, Tulo? 'Guess you guys were right after all?'
  4. The real question is, if Sale has an injury, how has he hidden it from our crack medical staff?
  5. Hah, you obviously steer clear of the game threads. Smart move.
  6. The Padres, you mean? The Hosmer contract was pretty hefty, though only half of Machado's in total value.
  7. I think there's an 'indirect' relationship between ticket prices and salaries. The Red Sox charge high ticket prices and they sell them. That helps them have the high revenues that in turn enables them to pay the high salaries. John Henry understands that to maximize revenues you need to put strong (and well-paid) teams on the field. And winning championships don't hurt.
  8. And that's a serious, serious issue. Boone's lack of urgency may have cost you one of the games in last year's LDS. And he doesn't seem to have changed that approach at all. You have to wonder what Cash and Hal are thinking of his performance. But with all the injuries it gets harder to evaluate.
  9. I didn't see the game, but the 4 scoreless from the pen is a beautiful thing. It's obvious that in spite of falling behind Cora treated it like a game we could win and it paid off handsomely. I love Cora!
  10. I'll throw in something from a layman's perspective. You have to look at the splits of the platoon hitters, such as Moreland and Pearce. See how much difference there is. Sometimes the platooning doesn't pay off because hitters have 'reverse splits', but sometimes the differences are large.
  11. Boone has been taking a lot of heat on the Yankee forum I check out. But none of them say they want Girardi back. None of them seem to be big Torre fans, for that matter. Baseball fans are brutal toward their managers, generally speaking. A lot of the Yankee fans say that Cashman hired the novice Boone because he wanted someone he could control.
  12. The Yankees are probably the only team that could handle two...
  13. As British people would say (my wife watches Coronation Street), Sale just needs to get himself 'sorted'.
  14. Good thing for the Yankees they didn't need Harper's bat.
  15. You're pitiful, Billygoat.
  16. bzk, that's not very healthy thinking when you're playing at home against the Tiggers.
  17. Plus the shot at Papi in his avatar. He's not a troll, though...
  18. Your contribution was as useful as tits on a bull, Billygoat.
  19. Cap'n Obvious never fails...
  20. Well, your pitching mojo was good at least.
  21. Rays win division by 6-7 games. Red Sox grab Wild Card spot. Yankees miss everything. (Silly answer for a silly question.)
  22. It does make you wonder exactly what sort of physical exam he had. The whole thing is a total head-scratcher.
  23. Anyone that does boo at the ceremony should be slugged. So maybe there will be some fights.
  24. Worth noting that the 2018 Red Sox, in a dream season, were 3-4 in their games at Seattle and Oakland. This was the toughest possible start that could have been devised for the team. It's gonna get better.
