  1. But we'll be under the 208!
  2. Good point. The Sox should be selling Joe West t-shirts.
  3. He's responding to the original post in the thread, damn him.
  4. The D dip could have been one of those defensive rating anomalies even the statmeisters warn us about...
  5. Big, but not as exciting as the Punto trade by any means, I don't think.
  6. Agreed, the AAV saving would be healthy. And Myers could certainly bounce back.
  7. I mean, the current buzz is that the offers are not going to be all that juicy.
  8. That was MASSIVE financial relief though...
  9. Whatever they do is a gamble loaded with what-ifs. I presume a lot depends on what actual offers they get him for him this offseason.
  10. Sammy Lucchino.
  11. The most incredible thing of all about 2004 might be those 2 umpire reversals in Game 6. The fact that they got them both right, without replay, and both in our favor, and in Yankee Stadium...mind-boggling, in a good way. It's why I will never say anything bad about Joe West.
  12. Yankee fans still bitch at Torre about that. Crazy as it is, there seems to be a sort of code of honor employed at times...
  13. My bet is they don't trade Mookie this offseason.
  14. Price, hopefully.
  15. It certainly wouldn't go over well with a lot of fans. You've seen some of the opinions here about Wright, and the allegations against Russell were far more severe. Someone will give him a job, no doubt. Hopefully it isn't us. We've got enough issues without that kind of baggage.
  16. We're under new management.
  17. Unless you're a real youngster.
  18. In 1975 was pretty close too - 7 outs away.
  19. I'm sure the guy that replaces Leon will thrill everyone with his offense too.
  20. Sale always did better with Leon, including 2019. That's just an indisputable fact.
  21. 1986 was exciting. Just ended wrong.
  22. For me the 70's were very exciting but incredibly frustrating.
  23. I just look at it this way - which organization has done better than us since Henry bought the team?
  24. Plus you want action during the offseasons. You just want it all, basically.
  25. This is what I've been thinking from the get-go. Trading him at the deadline might easily yield the same thing, or even better if luck cooperates.
