  1. There may not even be a 2022 season if that's what owners are pushing for.
  2. Those must be really casual fans, unaware of the existence of Jacob DeGrom...
  3. I think a pretty high percentage of fans now realize that W-L record doesn't mean all that much.
  4. I'm on record that the value of the re-set is overblown anyway. Especially with the current CBA expiring after 2021.
  5. Archer for Glasnow and Meadows was pretty sweet.
  6. If we don't trade Mookie this offseason and the team stinks, we trade him at the deadline, obviously.
  7. ERod was good this year, period. His W-L is inflated by the run support, but 203.1 IP with a deserved sub 4 ERA in the year of the Manfred Missile is commendable in any case.
  8. The Yankees, BTW, have filed a grievance against Ellsbury to recoup some money because he used an outside facility while rehabbing.
  9. I did. Wouldn't want to be them though. For some reason they can never get past the Wild Card game or Division Series.
  10. Then you're the Rays.
  11. I didn't even realize they tendered JBJ. Oddly enough no one else here mentioned it, I don't think.
  12. Sox fans are so nutty that guys are on the hot seat before they even get hired.
  13. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes though.
  14. True. Some of the key numbers are verifiable though, right? Payroll obviously is. Gate revenue must be. Is TV revenue verifiable?
  15. Chaim has a gargantuan, if not impossible task fielding a competitive team in 2020 and staying under 208 million.
  16. I'm giving harmony a pass on this one. The Yankees made a bad signing. Big deal. We've made plenty of them. Big deal. It really doesn't matter that much. I'm a bottom line guy.
  17. Taxing profits might be one way to do it.
  18. The big question for Chaim is how he replaces Porcello's innings, especially with the uncertain health of our big guns. We could be looking at a lot of bullpen games this year, that's for sure.
  19. The madness is not going to stop, not as long as baseball is flourishing financially. Free agents are hit and miss, and all the stat geeks in the world haven't figured out a way to predict with certainty which ones will succeed and which will flop.
  20. You do realize it's spelled Chaim?
  21. Devers isn't going anywhere.
  22. All the GM's who have a lot of money to play with have wasted piles of it. Cashman, Dombrowski, Theo, Ben. The great news for Sox fans is that we have overcome our wastages and won championships in spite of them. As for BB, it's not a great comparison. BB is of course awesome at what he does. But the structure in football is completely different.
  23. Nice of you leave out Rusney.
  24. I sincerely hope there are no other teams involved. It's enough of a fiasco as it is.
  25. MLBTR predicted 4/68, so they were pretty close.
