  1. Some guys are just super-streaky like that. Hopefully he catches fire over the last month of the season again.
  2. Iglesias hit .300/.347/.370 last years. Iglesias' problem seems to be more about his failing health than his ability to consistently square up balls.
  3. What I mean is that the bullets we really need to save are the BP's. It's very rare when this team has the chance to finish a game using one or no relievers. Carpe Diem.
  4. Papelblows.
  5. What if Leon doesn't slow down offensively? What if something "clicked" like it did for Jose Bautista? We can't know for sure until he actually stops hitting, so we can't agree he's not the full-time answer going forward.......yet.
  6. I was watching some Judge highlights the other day. That kid can hit it a mile.
  7. Excellent point Bell.
  8. Half-blind, but still.
  9. So when does Leon start cooling off?
  10. The "flack" you actually caught was people saying this is a decision the Sox needed to make when they felt he was ready, not just because he was blocked by Pedroia at 2B, and that is still the case. These kids (especially the ones who come from Cuba) have a lot of catching up to do, and orgs tend to put as little on their plates as possible. The problem here is that Moncada is a goddamn freak of nature who has obliterated every personal and professional challenge the Sox have thrown at him. He's a generational-talent type
  11. The way the BP's been worked lately, it was the right move.
  12. ^This is actually a very good point I must admit, hence my lack of complaints. Better early than late is my motto.
  13. Are you nuts? Jeter had a howitzer. He made a living out of masking his poor range with a great arm.
  14. When they pitch they dont't hit. When they hit they don't pitch. When they manage both the BP blows a lead. Mark of a bad team.
  15. The whining about Pomeranz is retarded.
  16. That is an outright lie.
  17. .746 OPS, sub .400 SLG%. He can sit.
  18. I wasn't here
  19. Excuse you? Well played.
  20. ^That's what I'm thinking.
  21. We can grasp the concept, but it's a stupid concept, unless that was the plan all along, and that is the topic of discussion.
  22. The whole "we were ridiculed because of X" is a form of humblebragging and chest-pounding. Own it.
  23. ....but you play the percentages. The percentage play in both cases was letting kids get the proper seasoning and calling them up when appropriate, not to bum-rush a positional need.
