    Did you actually read the job post you're quoting? Bradley has exactly nine more plate appearances than Pedroia had when he was first called up, and Pedroia still needed another month + to adjust. Other than that, yeah, a 4th OF who can play center and hit lefties would be a good idea.

    I love how quickly people have turned on WMB because of essentially a bad half-season. Less than a season ago, all of this praise and "i think he's a keeper" comments were directed at WMB. A cautionary tale of the struggles young players are bound to have when adjusting to the show, with certain notable exceptions.

    He doesn't throw as hard, and scouts think his stuff is simply a tier below, especially his fastball. So yes, that would constitute decidedly inferior, and yes, i will take scout's opinions over yours.     Spot on. I'd also add the fact that there is an adjustment period for these guys coming to pitch on a different mound/different sized ball/different amount of rest. Darvish is a freak of nature, and even he had some growing pains his first year. For a guy that's decidedly inferior in Tanaka's case, you are likely throwing out that first year out the window from the get-go while he adjusts to the league.

    Cabrera was ACTIVELY TRYING TO BANG OTHER PLAYERS' WIVES. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that's a pretty good reason to let someone go in FA. Then again, here at talksox we apparently need rocket scientists to complete even the most menial of tasks.....

    The absolute statement: "Every player who hooks up with Boras is looking for max money" is incorrect. Because, for one, absolutes are always incorrect. And second, we have several examples (Jered Weaver and Mark Teixeira being two of them) of players taking less money to stay or go to places they want to be, so he is indeed entirely incorrect.

    Yeah that's why Mark Teixeira and Jered Weaver took less money to sign/stay in places they wanted to be. Varitek re-signed with the Sox after 2004 for 4/40 but would have probably found more money/years elsewhere. I don't get this mercenary ********. Players have every right to cash in on their opportunity for a big payday, and none of us know exactly how these proceedings go or the players' preference (in general) for a particular team or situation. Please stop.

    They let Cabrera go because of a bunch of drama between him and other players because he was supposedly he was hitting on other player's wives. You read enough Cafardo to know this, so don't ignore it in order to make your "hard-hitting" judgments and criticisms.

    I love the irony of a Yankee fan preaching the virtues of patience to Red Sox fans (and this has been going for a while regarding the whole Theo/Cubs subject). Shows what's wrong with a significant portion of the Red Sox fanbase. Anything other than instant success means failure, even if it's part of a long-term plan.
