  1. Measuring offensive contributions based on hits is silly. Besides, over a significant sample of six years, EE has been the better player, mostly because he's been more durable overall. Health has value.
  2. This is a fantastic point. Well said.
  3. You are not particularly objective when your constant put-downs of the Sox but ogling over Mariners (who haven't made the playoffs in how many years?) players is observed carefully. Also, you did not answer my question.
  4. Do you ever have anything positive to say about the Red Sox or their players though? Honest question.
  5. I don't believe in "clutch", I believe in "Choke". Douchey fans can be a factor in some players being more prone to choking when the fans are on their back, but that's just me.
  6. Lost in the projections: A full year of Beninendi, a full year of Swihart (wherever he plays), whatever they get out of Sandoval, and non-CB first half starts.
  7. A serviceable SS who hits like an above-average 1B (He would have been eleventh amongst 1B in wOBA) is crazy valuable, and there's still room for growth.
  8. He is, because positional scarcity in a vacuum and for the Boston Red Sox specifically, is a thing. The most expendable member of the young core is actually JBJ, and that's saying a lot because of how valuable he is.
  9. Not "large swaths". This is a failed state by definition. We are 3rd in governmental corruption, 1st in driving-related accidents, top-10 in violent crimes, drug consumption and drug-related crimes (per capita) and money laundering. I could go on and on about what a shithole this is, but it's depressing. At least the population is waking up somewhat, organizing marches and stuff, but still.
  10. This country's f***ing garbage.
  11. Bullpen. DD's giant white whale.
  12. A report came out saying he was alive after the crash and a mob robbed him (including his WS ring) and left him for dead. I thought it was a hoax, but I called an ex-college teacher of mine who's a member of the National Police's PR department and he confirmed the report. That is f***ed up. This country blows.
  13. Sooooo.......Christian Vasquez eh?
  14. You expose the BP's soft underbelly and force it to throw significantly more IP. Over the season, it adds up, and next thing you know, you're losing those starts because the BP can't hold a lead.
  15. For a starter, the ability to prevent runs isn't really very useful if he can't provide IP in bulk.
  16. Because you're the king of whiners.
  17. The whining about Price has become an auto-trigger for me.
  18. Price could throw 250 IP of sub 3 ERA, 300 K ball and not give up a single run during a postseason in which the Sox win the WS and slasher would still whine about him. It's his thing.
  19. I'm game, as usual.
  20. Actually, gallina. Cluck cluck.
  21. Anyone whose last name starts with a B, but is not immediately followed by "Uchholz" should not be traded. They are the core of this team, and trading any of them plugs a hole by creating another.
  22. My post says quite clearly one of Encarnacion and Beltran.
  23. ^This. One of Encarnacion/Beltran, round out the relief corps. I would look at opportunistic SP upgrades though.
  24. This is the textbook definition of a pipe dream. Ramos is injury-prone and is going to be very expensive. Beltran is a good choice, but Turner is going to command big money while blocking Moncada, Jansen and Melancon will be super expensive, and we already have a closer, while Quintana will command a king's ransom. A realistic offseason will be one of Encarnacion and Beltran and a couple of RP's.
