  1. Are they going to be as effective as they were last night? Is Kluber actually going to be able to go 7 after the injury and long layoff?
  2. I think the Sox have a clear road to winning this game. Work Kluber over, and get to their middle relief. Only Otero remains of the highly-effective guys in Cleveland's BP. That lineup does not scare me at all.
  3. Common practice for them. It's the only thing I honestly dislike about them. They did the same thing to Grady, Nomar, O-Cab (kind of deserved it) among others.
  4. Cole sucked hard yesterday.
  5. .....won two world series titles, and went to the postseason five times.
  6. Tactically, Farrell played it perfectly considering the hand he was dealt with the Porcello meltdown.
  7. What the hell are you talking about? Francona has always managed with a sense of urgency in the postseason. You don't manage the sprint the same way you manage the marathon.
  8. Last night's game really pissed me off. But with their main BP weapons spent, we have a great chance of winning today and forcing them to win one of two at Fenway.
  9. The strategy tonight should be to work on getting Kluber out of the game as soon as possible so we can get to the soft underbelly of their BP.
  10. Except that we didn't. The position player side of the farm is still stacked, and Espinoza for Pomeranz still has a high likelihood of benefitting the Red Sox due to pitcher attrition rates. We also still have Kopech and some kid we drafted this year.....
  11. Really big fan of Koji. Would love to bring him back.
  12. You totally are playing the blame game though. The words above do not match up with your constant whining about those two trades.
  13. The Guardians had great pitching, but then Salazar and Carrasco, two of their big three pitchers got injured. Bauer and Tomlin do not comprise part of a "great" postseason rotation. Anything can happen, but those injuries greatly increase the chances of success for the Red Sox.
  14. HFA sure f***ing helped the Mets tonight.
  15. Annoyingly entitled much?
  16. f*** the Giants and their even-year BS narrative. Also, no more excuses for Familia. What a f***ing choker. Conor Gillaspie of all people.
  17. I really like Pomeranz, and I'm ok with the trade.
  18. Britton had an otherworldly GB rate (over 70%) and actually sported a reverse platoon split this year. Even when pitching well Ubaldo has been susceptible to the long ball, and he was pitching against the premier power threat in the AL East (Trumbo's year is an anomaly compared to his career averages). Showalter was playing with a lighter next to an open container of gasoline and hoping he didn't get burned. The result was predictable.
  19. You don't use "in case you have a lead" BP management in a tie game in extras on the road, because one run and it's over. You deploy your best reliever to hold the fort as long as possible and figure out the rest afterwards. Lolwalter's strict adherence to "Bullpen roles" cost him the game, and the Orioles' season. Can't say I'm not extremely happy about that though.
  20. Craig and Castillo won't count towards the luxury tax. Straight dollars is not the problem.
  21. Or things worked out and it's time to let that s*** go, goddamn people.
  22. Mostly Venezuela, but yes.
  23. If the Giants picked off the Cubs, there would be a lot of "Here we go again" vibes though.
  24. I highly highly doubt that.
