  1. The irony of it is, that he's actively trying to pick fights with me. I know he's butthurt that fred got banned, but he had it coming. Now get off my nuts.
  2. bostopz is conflating two things that have nothing to do with each other, then gets butthurt when called out on the shortcomings of his thought process. Amazing.
  3. I get it.. You don't understand what you're reading. But not liking something or in your case, not understanding it, doesn't make it any less true. The numbers are there for all to see. Good luck arguing the obvious there buddy.
  4. No one's excusing anything. You're just making a huge fuss about nothing. Their problem is that they're sucking at the plate. All of this "loser play" mumbo-jumbo is hogwash. But they do have a very big coaching problem, it's just in another area of the game.
  5. This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what has actually happened with Betts this year. Betts' problem with flyballs can't be applied to a single area of the strike zone. He's just not making enough hard contact with balls hit in the air in general. He's also barely made contact with pitches away this year, suggesting you're pretty much making that up. Also, he's been unlucky. No ifs or buts about it. However, that can't be a crutch to justify his lack of ability to put loft into balls he should be hitting hard in the air and end up into an OF's glove.
  6. I bet you don't even understand what the statistic is supposed to explain.
  7. That's a massive oversimplification. The definition of the problem however, is also ironically overly simple: They don't score enough runs consistently. How to explain why they don't score runs however, is extremely complicated. You are barking up the wrong tree here though.
  8. The main problem with this staff is offensive approach, so Chili Davis should be on the hot seat. The second is lack of in-game strategy other than defensive shifts, that is on Farrell. Other than that, it's much ado about nothing. As Spud mentioned, none of this would be an issue if the Sox were scoring more runs and winning.
  9. A victory tomorrow would be most welcome.
  10. ....or they're scared of overworking him because he's prone to injury, which, unlike our assumptions here, isn't rationalization, but fact.
  11. That's what I was thinking too. Apparently they have not learned their lesson yet.
  12. Panda was just a terrible signing all-around. This team would be much better off with a platoon in left and Hanley in 3B, where his defense was far from terrible, and his bat would be in the lineup.
  13. High school was essentially neutral for the most part, but it had some awful times. I can feel your pain Thunder, but you're a good kid. f*** 'em, don't give them the satisfaction of seeing you break down.
  14. The best part is that the pitching has steadily improved just as the offense and defense have steadily eroded. Unreal.
  15. The fundamentals of this team are terrible. My mojo cannot overcome that.
  16. Bases loaded for Panda against a lefty? f***.
  17. If by "wrecking" y'all mean singling us to death with the bases loaded, you might be right.
  18. http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/525x330/453214.jpg Knucklin' Steven Wright (2-2, 3.90) Vs http://mlb.mlb.com/images/players/525x330/alt/543548.jpg Tommy "I suck and should in the minors" Milone I admit it. After consecutive years of pretty decent mojo, my mojo has been terrible this year. That is about to change however, as I have been channeling my mojo for a while now and I am thus ready to unleash it in a tornado of righteous fury. Let's hammer this scrub Red Sox! Prediction mojo: 6-2 Red Sox, that knuckler's a dancin'.
  19. Well this once entertaining discussion about the Red Sox' poor offensive showing inevitably went down the crapper. Oh well.
  20. Henry mentioned this himself in his interview the other day. A team with a bunch of right-handed hitters with XBH production is not hitting for extra bases.
  21. That'd be funny, if it wasn't a terrible, terrible lie. Bartolo is slower than Bengie Molina.
  22. I was about to comment that part of the problem would seem to be that a number of hitters seem to have been obligated to get out of their elements in order to fit the Sox' offensive philosophy, including Sandoval, Betts, Castillo and possibly Swihart. The "work the count" philosophy probably needs to be loosened up a bit. Too many pitchers are getting free strikes against this team.
  23. Whining about depth fodder is pretty much the dumbest thing I've ever seen anyone do on this site, and we have multiple people doing it. I don't even know what to say.
  24. Lots of vaginitis going on around here (Pardon me ladies)
