  1. As expected, Bloom getting rid of homegrown talent again. They're not even gonna make a competitive offer for Bogaerts. Meanwhile we're supposed to settle for Trevor Story. That's a clear DOWNGRADE. Let's continue to watch Bloom run this franchise into the ground. But yup everything's fine, Bloom can do no wrong!
  2. Those who staunchly support Bloom, can I ask what has he accomplished that makes you so sure that he's making all the right moves? How many championships does he have on his resume? Were the Rays so special under his 'management' that you really feel the Red Sox should adopt that kind of model - try to be competitive while fielding low budget teams? It doesn't seem to suit a team that year after year carries a top 3 payroll. How far have the Red Sox progressed or regressed since Bloom took over in 2019? One could easily argue that the Red Sox have regressed overall, failing to make the playoffs and landing dead last in the AL East division race. Last but not least the big trades that Bloom has made have generally fallen flat and the Red Sox ended up losing them. Mookie Betts for Verdugo and prospects? Big LOSE. Hunter Renfroe for Jackie Bradley Jr.? Big LOSE. How about free agency acquisitions? Trevor Story for 140m dollars? Big LOSE and overpay! So tell me what exactly gives you faith that Chaim Bloom is still the right man for the job? He has shown a callous disregard for keeping clubhouse leaders and homegrown talent. Who will he show the door next? He already deleted Mookie Betts and Christian Vazquez. Who's next on his chopping block - Bogaerts or Devers? Will you still be singing his praises once he ships those guys out the door?!
  3. SWEPT by the Yankees and now pounded by the Orioles to the tune of 14 runs given up. I don't see how anyone can reasonably defend Bloom anymore at this point in time.
  4. The Red Sox were 92-70 in 2021, 22 games over .500 and belonged in the postseason. So why are they now 59-61? Answer Bloom DUMPED our talent and made our team worse all for the 'promise' of prospects. The roster in 2022 is subjectively WORSE than 2021 and Bloom is the architect of this disaster. And yet everyone wants to kiss his feet and hold him BLAMELESS for his own mistakes. Trading for Jackie Bradley Junior was a huge FLOP but it's just one of the most obvious warning flags of his INEPTITUDE as a GM. In the 3 years of Bloom's 'stewardship' nothing about his 'genius moves' inspires confidence. He has made the Red Sox progressively WORSE in 3 years in charge.
  5. I'm so glad Bloom got us pitching help at the deadline. Oh wait he didn't. Just got shelled 15-10 by the Orioles. It's not quite as bad as the record 28 run shellacking we took earlier in the year, but it's still pretty pathetic!
  6. Unlucky. But I wasn't counting on Sale to save the team either. Looks like we're missing the playoffs. I just hope there are consequences for failure. Getting tired of seeing the Red Sox lose.
  7. We just lost to the Royals, a team 20 games under .500 by a score of 13-7. And our starting CF is a career minor league 2nd baseman who is JUST starting to learn how to play CF. OOF. The blame has to go on Bloom for stockingpiling such a pathetic group of outfielders that we're forced to play a natural 2B in center field, the most important defensive outfield position. durran on being a noob to CF: https://nesn.com/2022/08/red-soxs-jarren-duran-comments-on-defensive-miscues-vs-royals/ No true center fielder added at the deadline. No bullpen help added at the deadline. And subtracted our starting catcher Vazquez to replace with a catcher known only for his public WANKING! The emperor, Chaim Bloom, has no clothes. Just nobody is willing to admit it yet.
  8. Alex Cora talks JBJ release, "Where we’re at roster-wise, we had to go in a different direction." Translation: we had to get the black hole out of our lineup even it it meant getting absolutely nothing back in return. Bravo Chaim Bloom! What a brilliant trade to give away a 30 homerun hitter for a guy you had to later DFA in the same season! Article: https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2022/08/boston-red-sox-release-jackie-bradley-jr-alex-cora-says-where-were-at-roster-wise-we-had-to-go-in-a-different-direction.html
  9. I'm not high on Groome or anything like that. I'm just wary that Bloom looks quite willing to ship off anyone he didn't handpick himself. As for why he traded for Hosmer - dirt cheap pricetag, San Diego literally wanted to get rid. Meanwhile the Red Sox suffered for 100+ games with no real 1st baseman with Franchy Cordero and Dalbec being disasters. It's just a case of too little too late and hardly deserves praise considering this does pretty much nothing for our chances to catch up in the division when we're already in the cellar looking up at the Yankees.
  10. If you want to talk about human element, it sounds like Vazquez wasn't even given a courtesy call to inform him he was being traded. He only found out about it when the press questioned him. Awkward! What a douche way to handle it by Chaim Bloom. https://www.si.com/mlb/2022/08/02/christian-vazquez-on-red-sox-trading-him-to-astros-its-a-business
  11. I'm not surprised. Bloom didn't draft Groome. Groome was taken in the 1st round of the 2016 draft by the prior regime, Bloom took over in 2019. So he's not a Bloom 'protege'. I wouldn't be surprised if Bloom shuffles all the 'deck chairs' on the Titanic until every single players has been handpicked or brought in by him directly. Seems to have that kind of ego. The question is how long will the Red Sox suffer in the basement until ownership has had enough of Bloom's antics? Keep in mind that Devers is a homegrown player but arrived BEFORE Bloom, starting his Red Sox career in 2017, same is also true of Bogaerts who started with the Red Sox at the tender age of 20 in 2013. So I wouldn't be surprised if Bloom shipped them both off as soon as he finds it convenient.
  12. Wow if Bloom is dictating lineups and where Cora can play his guys, he really needs to get the hell out of the kitchen and let the manager do his job!
  13. Seriously Bogaerts and Devers are core players going forward. But Bloom seems intent doing things 'his way' and losing the trust of the players. We'll just see how long ownership will put up with Bloom. It will not end well if we stay in the cellar and keep playing the way we have been. 28 runs given up is an EMBARRASSMENT! Last place in the AL East, probably not what ownership had in mind when they first hired 'the genius' Chaim Bloom.
  14. Can you blame them for losing confidence in this GM? Bloom has shown ZERO LOYALTY to homegrown talent and he consistently trades away good players for BAD ones. See the recent JBJ blunder. And Bloom finally DFA'd JBJ after bringing in 34 year old outfielder Tommy Pham. Think about it, an aging 34 year old OFer who barely hits .700 OPS is an UPGRADE over JBJ! Oh and you remember that Hunter Renfroe guy? He's chilling with 19 HRs and .806 OPS for Milwaukee! To add insult to injury he now trades away a well respected long time Red Sox in Vazquez and replaces him with a catcher who's barely hitting .225 with a .546 OPS this year and whose claim to 'FAME' is getting arrested for Public WANKING!! *SMH* Bloom has lost the clubhouse, we can only hope this will hasten his departure from 'leading' this club straight to the basement of the AL East!
  15. JBJ one of Bloom's worst BLUNDER trades has now been kicked off the roster! Good riddance!
  16. Nobody can dispute that the Red Sox are in last place now. This is a situation of Bloom's own inept creation. My question for you - what report indicated the 'owner mandate' that Bloom reduce payroll to 108m? Because I've heard no such report. And if that mandate is actually true, paying Story 140m over 6 years makes even less sense now.
  17. You just love making a fool of yourself don't you? Nobody said the Red Sox would win a championship with Drury. But a move that actually IMPROVED the big league roster would have given us some hope that Bloom actually had half a CLUE on how to be a competent GM. Obviously such ideas eluded him! Trading Good players for almost ZERO value, that's his real specialty. Such as giving away our starting catcher, Christian Vazquez for a bag of chips and a couple of prospects. Or how about trading for a catcher in Reese McGuire with an OPS of .546 and whose only claim to fame is getting arrested for PUBLIC WANKING!! BRAVO Bloom! We should all join you in your effusive praise for Bloom's buffoonery!
  18. If Bloom had made a trade for Drury, there might actually be some optimism for the Red Sox around here. PS All it cost the Padres was Acosta, a SS prospect who isn't even in Baseball Prospectus top 100. Instead his 'best' move is probably obtaining Hosmer, whom San Diego was desperate to get rid of, to marginally improve our pathetic 1B position. But for what little good that move made, Bloom counteracts by dealing away our starting catcher Christian Vazquez for prospects and a bag of chips. Yup 'genius' at work here folks, all the critics of Chaim Bloom just need to be quiet and watch the Red Sox continue to sink in the cellar of the AL East!!
  19. LOL you can talk down Vazquez all you want. He is still leagues better than Reese "Public Wanker" McGuire. And the reason the Red Sox are heading rapidly in the wrong direction is largely in part to multiple FAIL moves likes this by the 'genius' Chaim Bloom.
  20. LOL, saying Reese Mcguire is an actual MLB catcher is like saying JBJ is an actual MLB outfielder. It means nothing. Let's look at the actual facts? Reese Mcguire: BA .225, OBP .261, SLG .285, OPS .546. Christian Vazquez: BA .282, OBP .327, SLG .432, OPS .759 By every offensive metric possible, Mcguire is a HUGE DOWNGRADE compared to Vazquez. That's not including the fact that Vazquez was a highly respected and valued teammate and was highly familiar with our pitching staff and how to handle them. Meanwhile the highlights of McGuire are that he was caught and arrested for public masturbation in 2020. WTF are you smoking Chaim Bloom? The baseball 'genius' has struck OUT yet again! What a disastrous deadline move!
  21. Lol what a Strawman argument. Name a single post where I ever said I wanted the likes of Devers, Bogey, or Betts to be traded away. You can't find one cos I never did. The problem here is that Bloom subtracted a solid core starter at an important position, catcher, and the big league club got worse in the process because all we got back were prospects. BTW Devers, Bogaerts, Betts were homegrown Red Sox prospects. Bloom has already traded away Betts and is rumored to want to get rid of Bogaerts and Devers in the future. He doesn't give a damn about homegrown prospects. Bloom's ego demanded that he trade away Vazquez just because of some reported criticism. And I'm hearing that Bogaerts was UNHAPPY with the Vazquez trade as well. article: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10044205-red-sox-ss-xander-bogaerts-expresses-skepticism-over-christian-vazquez-trade So Bloom's MO is to trade away core homegrown players and piss off current players on the team to satisfy his own ego? OK, chief. 'Genius' moves by Bloom yet again!!
  22. I've got 140 million reasons. You don't pay that kind of money for just a good defensive infielder. Those are a dime a dozen. You pay that kind of money for a premium bat that has the good defense included. Bloom's evaluation as typical was off. He overpaid for an aging infielder who can't hit outside of Coors field. Has the man never heard of Park Factors?! *SMH* But of course some fans are so EAGER to find excuses for the 'baseball genius'.
  23. Typical Red Sox goto move of recent years. Let's just waste money. Why am I not surprised. Well we have no choice but to wait and see. At least Hosmer can't hit worse than our current cast of inept outcasts, right? It would be just our luck if Hosmer chooses to regress the instant he dons a Red Sox uniform. A .720 OPS is not impressive for a 1st baseman, but compared to Bobby 'where's the ball' Dalbec, it would be serviceable in comparison.
  24. Typical strawman deflection. Story was sucking without the broken wrist. The injury just adds to the misery of the move. Which was an opportunity cost FAILURE to improve the outfield cos we dropped big bucks and OVERPAID for a .710 OPS 2nd baseman who can't hit outside Coors field.
  25. Why would I need to? It's over. We gave up a 30 home run bat and received a .578 OPS bat in return. JBJ absolutely blow chunks. FACT. If you really need an update let's look right now: Hunter Renfroe is chilling with an .816 OPS and 19 homeruns for the Brewers. Gee why can't we get those kinds of players, OH cos Bloom TRADES them AWAY! Suzuki is currently batting a .766 OPS with 8 homeruns which tops ALL Red Sox outfielders. But the money is already sunk into Trevor Story who BROKE his wrist and is out for 1 month. Keep in mind we paid 6/140m dollars for a 2nd baseman who has batted .710 OPS and has been EXPOSED outside of Coors field. Happy? I'm sure not. Bloom's continued FAIL moves just keep making our Red Sox Worse. The Trade Deadline has been a disappointment.
