  1. Ugh Porcello.
  2. Lol. If he plays anything like his last start he will be fine...... Hopefully.
  3. Call it over confidence but there should be no reason we drop this series. I don't know how we will win whether its from great pitching or great offense or both but this should be a pretty easy win in my opinion. Fister is still wildy inconsistent though and you never know what you will get with him. Behind Porcello and E-Rod there should be no reason what so ever to drop these games to Cinci.
  4. Normally I say I don't care how we win but against the Reds I hope we put up some serious offense in this series. A win is a win but this is a good time for the offense to come alive..... And hope Porcello has a great game of course.
  5. I believe we beat Houston in the first round and lose to Cleveland in the ALC........ I think we match up well against Houston and can shut down their powerhouse offense with our pitching.... Cleveland is just too strong in every aspect of the game. Hopefully we can at least give them a decent series though unlike last year.
  6. I haven't paid much attention to Billy Hamilton...... What happened to him?
  7. This. Not sure if we sweep the series but every game is like 2-1 or 3-2 if I should feel good about the wins or scared entering playoffs. Regardless entering the playoffs on any kind of a streak is always a confidence booster but I hope the offense shows up this series. Poor Reds I have a friend that is a huge Reds fan. What a disaster of a season. I thought they started pretty good too, my god how quick that changed lol.
  8. Lets get another win boys!!!! Hope Porcello has a great outing tonight.
  9. What it really boils down for me is I just don't think we can get anyone else that will do as good of a job as Farrell. Why take him out and replace him with somebody brand new who isn't familiar with the team. Our offense has been sluggish at the best of times this year there is no doubt about that But we also have a top 5 pitching rotation in the entire league as well as a pretty great defense. If Farrell and this team can make a nice playoff run and get through the Astros in the first round (which is who we will likely play) I don't see why Farrell would be taking a hike. A World Series championship 4 years ago and now back to back playoff appearances (this year without Ortiz) I am fine with Farrell. I can honestly say the man has made some questionable calls all year especially regarding pitchers staying in too long but that can happen with the best of managers and coaches.
  10. THIS. Very easy to let a 3 game lead slip through 10 games. Yankees are on fire right now and have won 8 of their last 10..... Only reason they haven't caught us in the past couple weeks is because Boston is also playing very well and keeps winning. Start resting some players and lose a couple games Yankees will be tied with us the next thing you know. A 3 game lead with 10 games left is not a comfortable lead by any means especially when the team chasing you is on fire like the Yankees. I wish we could rest our best players but losing the division is still a huge possibility if we don't keep winning.
  11. Doesn't surprise me but maybe they will only leave him in for a few innings depending how close the Yankees are to us and what not.
  12. When it comes to a nasty punch to the face nothing comes to mind more than Odor punching Bautista....... I still see that in my sleep lmao and Bautista took that punch like a champ. That hit gave me chills lol.
  13. Yes I tend to agree with this. I still would have liked to give Sale some rest had we clinched the division by now but I agree with how good he looked last night there is no way one extra game will make him tired and play like crap come playoffs (at least I hope not) He has still been inconsistent and some rest would have been nice. However the division race is just too close to rest our best players right now. It is what it is and I am sure a lot of teams right now would love to be in our position of likely winning their division and making playoffs. You have to go with the hand you are dealt.
  14. I still don't feel good about us resting a lot of our players against Houston. I guess when the series comes we will have a better look at the division. The reds is important and would be nice to get a sweep and really get ahead of the Yankees but if it comes down to the Yankees being a game behind us I just don't feel comfortable about resting our top players. Do they need it? Absolutely but the Yankees could honestly win out and regardless if Houston is resting quite a few of their players it could still be a tough series.
  15. This. If we were the Dodgers or Astros it's a completely different story with a massive lead in the division....... But with only a 3 game lead over the Yankees (and with how red hot they have been) we still need to put our best players out there to win us games and hopefully the division. We finish the season with the Astros which will be an incredibly tough series and they have been on a roll as well. Yankees could easily win out. I would love to give some rest to some of our best players but unfortunately the division is just too close to do that. The Yankees have no slowed down so we can't either. I wanted Sale to have some rest last night but hey..... a game like that might be just what he needs in terms of confidence. Hopefully the rest of our pitchers are up to the task and we can give Price some more innings before playoffs roll around.
  16. I completely agree. Sale was dominant last night there is no question about it but I too would have liked to See Price get a couple innings of work. So far he has played only two innings and he could be a useful weapon come playoffs but he needs a bit more work. Hopefully over the stretch of Cinci he gets some innings in and plays well.
  17. Everything last night was an absolute gem. Everything From pitching to defence to offense. This team is hitting a beautiful stride and it couldn't have come at a better time with playoffs right around the corner. Not to mention the Yankees haven't slowed down what so ever. The Red sox have taken 7 of their last 10 and have had to with the Yankees right on their tail. Playoffs are going to be exciting. Off day today
  18. This folks was a beautiful game.
  19. SALE gonna go all game ?
  20. Maybe Sale should be done for the night to rest him?
  21. Just saying...... Sale is dialed in tonight.
  22. Joe Kelly
  23. This. With the Yankees 2.5 games back of us they can still take the division if the Red sox lose a couple in a row which is very possible with how inconsistent this offense has been. I completely agree with still starting the best pitcher. If we were L.A or Cleveland on the other hand its a different story.
  24. I say normal rest and maybe if we have a huge lead get him out of there after 4 innings or something like that. Long rest periods can be good but you also don't want a pitcher going cold as well. Sale has been pretty consistent with his pitching this year and hasn't had any time off or anything like that. Sometimes you mess with that groove and it can throw a pitcher off. It's hard to say..... Although it's not like he has been super great lately anyway.
  25. Unfortunately this happens to quite a # of pitchers You hate to see it but they are human and by the second half of the season they start getting burnt out. Not to mention the 2nd half of the season is when teams go full pelt and give you absolutely everything they have to try and make a run at the playoffs. Being burnt out and getting the team's very best can be a lot for some pitchers. Sale was putting up near god like numbers in the first half of the season. It's unfortunate that he has come down from those numbers quite a bit but it is what it is. I hope he has a great outing tonight and gets some rest heading into the playoffs. At this point I just care how he performs in the Playoffs. Hopefully tonight will give him a bit of mojo.
