  1. Havent seen any of the Yankees and Twins game but my god Yankees seem to have their number. Really hoping Minnesota if they make the Wild Card round can upset the Yankees and move on to face Cleveland (If Cleveland can hang on to that top seed) but right now it isn't looking too good for Minnesota. Yankees are on fire
  2. Well nevermind forgot it was an afternoon game. Tied at 3..... Jesus
  3. They have had the last two Yankees and Twins game on TV so I will likely be going back and forth. I'll be rooting for the Twins hard. They need this win in the worst way as they will likely be playing the Yankees in the Wild Card round unless the Angels move to the 2nd Wild Card spot.
  4. I just want a nice solid day for Sale. Guy needs some serious mojo going on before he enters the playoffs. He has been inconsistent at best since the All Star break. Hopefully a solid game from him will be just what he needs entering the playoffs. His strikeouts are still among the best in the MLB but he is giving up too many runs. Win, dance, repeat boys! And hopefully a Yankees loss will complete the night.
  5. I was just going to say I could see Barnes making it over Maddox but time will tell. I still get confused when I see Barnes and think its Price lmao. Dude looks so identical to him it's not even funny (imo) lol.
  6. Ya I am not holding out hope for the playoffs on our offense that's for sure. We will need great pitching to win against Houston and Cleveland or Yankees or whoever we play. With that said getting Nunez back and Pedroia hitting again..... If the offense comes alive during the playoffs great we will need that too. But if our pitching is anything less than stellar it could be ugly.
  7. He has been absolutely fantastic all year long for us. What a great pick up for us and honestly is the one pitcher I think I fully trust right now going into playoffs. Sale since the All Star break has scared me, Porcello seems to be getting his groove back but inconsistent and same with Fister. Poms should win us whatever game he starts. Watching him this year has been fun. If Sale can find his form from the first half of the season and Porcello plays like he did last game along with Poms pitching like he has all season I really don't think there is a team (even Cleveland) that could stop us in the playoffs.
  8. Certainly makes for a long game however it's good they can grind these games out and make it worth it. I would be more concerned if all these games were going to extras and they were losing them. This is playoff baseball (finding ways to win games whether it's ugly or not) and it might take extras to beat the solid teams like Cleveland or Houston. At this point I could care less how we win games as long as we win them. Two days ago we won strictly because of our offense and last night was all pitching. At the end of the day this team has won 7 of their last 10 and keeping ahead of the Yankees which they have to do because the Yankees are red hot right now. Looking like it will be the Yanks and Twins in the Wild Card and if the Yanks win that wild card they will be a tough opponent for Cleveland come playoff time. Playoffs can't come fast enough.
  9. My god Drew is a thing of beauty this year. Offense wins it last night and pitching tonight!!
  10. Haha agreed. That is one team I wouldn't mind making it and winning it all. I was ok with the Cubs last year and would be ok with Cleveland this year. Very well could be a rematch of last year.
  11. This is exactly what I was thinking!!!! I know it's hard to tell as we haven't seen Price much in the bullpen but it would be fantastic if he could put up Miller like numbers in the playoffs..... Guess time will tell..... Speaking of Miller I think Cleveland just reactivated him 3 days ago. As if they needed anymore weapons lol.
  12. Although Farrell has done some dumb things and I question some of the calls he makes on a regular basis. We did win a World Series under him and we are among the best teams pitching wise in the MLB. I obviously am not as against Farrell as a lot of the members are on this board....... The trouble with this team is we get a lot of our runs and hits in bulk. When this team hits a stride they are fantastic and among the best in baseball but when we cool down it's like they could give zero shits and are basically out there for a pay cheque. That is where Farrell as a manger needs to get them motivated to do their job. That is why I am waiting to see what happens in the Playoffs. A run to the World Series (especially beating a team like Cleveland) would do wonders for Farrell...... However another sweep in the first round is going to look extremely ugly on Farrell and I can't see him sticking around. Although at this point I really question who would do a better job than him. Managers like Francona are extremely rare. Teams are lucky to ever have a manager like that. We might lose Farrell and get something as bad or worse.
  13. This. Not saying we aren't a good team but not so sure the World Series will be such a gimme like they were in 04 and 07. Dodgers, Nats and Cubs would be one hell of a tough series for the Sox.
  14. I actually wouldn't mind seeing this come playoffs...... With Price's playoff failures he needs to do something to get some confidence back come playoff time. Maybe not starting a game but pitching 3 or 4 solid innings will be what he needs to get some playoff mojo in his head.
  15. Farrell's fait will be decided on what kind of run we have in the playoffs is my guess. Even though a lot of people want him fired right now regardless of what happens. If we make it to the World Series can't see him going anywhere.
  16. Definitely makes for a late night for me when I have to be up at 6 am the next day for work lol.
  17. This! I have had the same feeling and I think it might be mainly due to the fact their pitching doesn't overly scare me. They are just slightly above average and I know they have a high powered offense but I would still rather take that on than Cleveland's #1 pitching rotation. Either series would be tough and I would much rather play the White Sox and Athletics in the playoffs lmao but if I had to choose its definitely Houston over the Guardians.
  18. With that said I am also glad if the season ended today we will likely play Houston. I want nothing to do with Cleveland in the first round lol.
  19. Huge win and huge performance from the offense! Love that we can win games like this when our pitching is off! Very entertaining game regardless of awful pitching lol.
  20. Very true. As long as Boston wins tonight I don't overly care. But if we lose and they are only 2 games back won't sit well with me this close to the end of the season
  21. This game I wont lie..... pretty entertaining.
  22. f*** YAnkees won. Need this game.
  23. Bases loaded for Minnesota in the Yankees game. Close game for both Of us tonight.
  24. Anyone els extremely nervous about Fister pitching in the playoffs? When the guy is on he's fantastic but when he's off. My god it's just terrifying how bad he can be.
  25. Talk about the offense bailing out our pitching wow. If there was ever a time for the bats to show up it's tonight.
