  1. I agree now, in hind sight. Without a lot of context and without knowing a lot about him, it came across to me like he was putting his own interests ahead of the team's. I'm referring specifically to the cutting of the alternate jerseys. From an outsider's perspective, that sounds really alarming if you don't know the whole story, which I did not at the time. I was a little leery when we traded for him, especially since I liked Moncada, despite his growing K rate the year before
  2. There's definitely a bunch of guys that are "clubhouse cancers" that you don't want to mess with, Puig being at the top of that list. I thought Sale would do that to the Sox clubhouse when we got here, but I am glad I was proved wrong
  3. Biggest question with our rotation is staying healthy. Two guys are notoriously injury prone, and two others are coming off of life-changing injuries
  4. Watching The Kid grow up must have been amazing
  5. I also wanted to see him and Bauer in Sox uniforms, but was talked out of it by a friend. Way too much risk for both of them
  6. I was being facetious
  7. If he was on the Red Sox, I wouldn't care if he did well. I don't want that dude on my team. Same goes for Osuna, as well as Correa, Altuve, Bregman and Springer
  8. Lol are you sure you're a Red Sox fan? You sure love talking about those Mariners. The last time they made the playoffs I was 3
  9. Eh, unifying morale is overrated
  10. I had to make a new profile because I recently changed email addresses. Now there is no longer a trace of my past dominance
  11. Thanks. I got it now. I'll join when I get a spare moment
  12. My schedule is a jumble with two jobs and partially synchronous classes. Changes on a week-to-week basis, so if somebody throws out a time, I'll see if I can make it work
  13. If you also sent it to me, it's not in my inbox

I like your idea better. That was his excuse when he had the DWI arrest. He didn't know how the pain meds would affect him
  15. I wish I had been old enough to hear Sean McDonough do Red Sox games. He's turned into one of my favorite voices at ESPN. Has been going through puberty for seemingly 40 years with all the voice cracks

I have a theory that he was trying to kill himself. Pain makes you do crazy things, and to be in pain for as long as he has, I can understand the motivation. I was watching Golf Channel last night in bed, and they had a journalist/USC professor on who is very familiar with the stretch of road. He said it's not uncommon for people to go insanely fast, but it is also pretty straight, and he can't imagine how a single car could rollover and crash, particularly on a perfect weather day with no hazardous road conditions. He also mentioned how there was no indication that Tiger hit the breaks.
  17. Might be the first time you've ever said that to me. I'm crying tears of joy

Tiger was in a car crash this morning in LA. Single vehicle rollover. This reminds me so much of Kobe.... Can't let it have the same outcome
  19. Don't exile me for saying this, but I've long felt that the YES booth in one of the best in the business. There was a time when I would watch Sox-Yanks games on YES. Didn't matter who did play-by-play, Kay, Singleton or Ruocco. They always had great control of the game. O'Neill, Cone, and Flaherty were also solid presences in the booth. I always felt like I learned so much from listening to them. They seemed very impartial. Much more impartial than A-Rod in the SNB booth. Can't listen to him to Sox-Yankee games anymore.
  20. I'm with moon, for the most part
  21. I never said it was surprising. Any piece of bad PR and you get the axe
  22. Sadly, telling the truth has always been a fireable offense in corporate America
  23. I don't disagree. Goes back to the whole idea of remembering and recognizing the mistakes of past generations so that we don't repeat them again. As MVP said, though, not sure that logic really applies here
  24. What exactly did he say? I skimmed the transcript and couldn't find anything too obscene, albeit I had a textbook reading about tax laws for corporations vs partnerships open on another tab
  25. My least favorite Yankee is back for another year. I can't remember a Yankees team without him
