  1. Chase Field makes sense. Deep CF with a bunch of funky angles out there. Lorenzo Cain has spent his entire career playing at either Kauffman or Miller. Must be a lot of being at the wrong place at the wrong time
  2. Inside the park HRs too. Wouldn't be surprised if Coors is already the leader in that category, or up near the top. Somebody look it up for me.
  3. You think he's going to want to coach? He loves the game too much IMO. I remember how Tito used to force him to take a day off if he was banged up because he wouldn't come off the field otherwise
  4. Considering you pull everything out of your ass, that makes sense
  5. I do see Pedroia getting there eventually, but I don't think Remy will still be around at that point
  6. Damn, I just realized that the days of hearing Remy say "Pedroyer" are officially over.
  7. Thanks Manny Machado
  8. I had two initial reactions when I heard Pedey retired: 1) Hey MVP, should we trade him now? 2) He's the last Red Sox player that pre-dates my fandom. I can only specifically recall watching games as far back as 2007, so I do not remember a Red Sox team that did not feature Dustin Pedroia. It feels like the last part of me that was still a kid is now gone, too. In those golden days, Pedey, Ortiz and Lester were my idols. I used to be able to mimic Lester's delivery perfectly
  9. Been a year since Kobe died
  10. I wholeheartedly agree. 3.53 ERA in his career. Last year's sample size isn't large enough to quantify in my opinion. Pitching stats all come down to innings pitched. As a reliever in a 60 game season, you're not going to eat up a lot of innings. 60 games puts us at around the end of May or start of June in a 162 game season. You could have a bad April and be really solid out of the pen the rest of the year, but because pitching stats are all about IP, your ERA, WHIP and K/BB per 9 will all be ridiculously high. I think he'll be just fine for us. We need any help we can get in the bullpen, and pitching in general
  11. I don't care if he blows 5 saves in April. Anybody is better than Barnes in the 9th inning
  12. I think this is the best signing off the offseason so far in terms of the contract, like jacko mentioned. If he works out, great. If not, oh well, see you later. Won't cost us that much. He has always had potential if he could just stay on the field.
  13. We're becoming a team full of old Dodger bench warmers
  14. Talk about being hung...
  15. What if we have iron balls?
  16. "Multiple reports confirm that the Red Sox are emerging favorites to sign David Ortiz out of retirement, age him in reverse by 20 years, and then start him at DH in 2021"
  17. Springer said he wanted to be closer to home (New Britain, CT). I guess terrorizing the Yankees and Red Sox in their own ballparks 20 times a year counts as being closer to home.
  18. Fair enough
  19. Well how are they better? Biggest acquisition to this point is Renfroe and he doesn't exactly change the course of the franchise
  20. I would argue that the Red Sox have gotten worse. The pitching hasn't been enhanced at all, and the offense only marginally so. We can't just go around assuming that E-Rod and Sale will be their normal selves upon returning. TJS is a hit or miss in terms of returning to prior production, and even before E-Rod's heart condition and COVID, I felt that 2019 was a career year for him that would be hard to replicate.
  21. That Sox rotation gives me nightmares... Looking at Toronto, one might question if they have enough pitching to win the division. They'll be able to score with anybody in baseball, especially the Yankees, but can they stop the Yankees offense enough? Pearson has the potential to be an ace, but he's not there yet. Outside of Ryu, who do you give the ball to when you need a win? A solid rotation should have 2 or 3 of those guys
  22. The AL East is leaving us behind...
  23. Porter: "How do you say penis in [insert language]?" Reporter: "What do you mean?" Porter:
  24. This man speaks facts.
