  1. For the record, the Angels hold the 1st WC spot, and they are only a game ahead of the Twins/Orioles, who hold the 2nd WC spot. Having one WC wouldn't drastically change how we looked at ourselves, at least right now.
  2. A week ago, I didn't agree with this, but I do now. Changes could help this team to be more consistent, which is probably the main thing holding us back.
  3. True. I can feel a big run coming though. The key is to continue to win every series. A two game sweep of the Marlins sans Stanton is a must. The Cardinals have lost 6 series all year, and split three 4 game series with the Mets, Twins, and this past weekend against the Padres. See what gaining constant ground can do?
  4. Definitely Bogaerts. The improvements he's made since last year are astonishing
  5. Along with Gray being unavailable, I don't think the Braves would give up Miller. They're still in contention. They're certainly not frontrunners for the NL East, but they had to steal Miller from the Cards. I doubt they'd give him up that quickly, even for a really good offer.
  6. Did Fred hack your account? If so, I'm probably next.
  7. So let's discuss how many ASG starters each of us have. I have 5 out of a possible 19: Harper, Stanton, Donaldson, Escobar, and Altuve.
  8. Tune in Tuesday and Wednesday, when the Sox take on the Miami Giancar-no's.
  9. Water! Series win! Who do you call when you need a quick win streak? Call Thunder and his mojo!
  10. Lovin' this team right now
  11. Dammit Hanley... Again
  12. Who's down with a series win? It would be a 3rd straight series win... and a series win against the kings of the AL. At this point, that's all we need, right? If we take 2 steps forward, and only 1 back, eventually, we will get to .500. Throw a few sweeps in there and we're looking good. Bing, Bang, Boom, let's do it. It's a gorgeous Fenway day game. You know what that means. The combined age of today's starters is 43, nearly thrice the age of yours truly, and just a couple years younger than my oldest sibling.. RHP Lance McCullers (4-2, 2.19) vs LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (4-2, 3.92)
  13. Before we drop the hammer on Masterson, stop and realize that he was shelled by the best offense in the AL, and the best team in the AL. In his first start back, he handled the Rays pretty well, a team that was in 1st until they ran into the Bronz this weekend.
  14. Who are your 4? I mean, we have Masterson back now, and he's look decent so far. In my view, he's more than capable of holding down that last spot for the foreseeable future, although you are right that Miley and Porcello must improve, or at least be more consistent.
  15. It's been good enough for us to go 6-3 since last Friday. It would be nice for it to be as good as Buch was today, but that's just not going to happen.
  16. At this point, I think we're fine. We've had a good offensive stretch in the last week. We've scored 14 runs in 2 games against the best team in the AL.
  17. Some we'll win, some we'll lose. Some of us will sing the blues (after a loss). But what mustn't we do? Don't stop believing! That was just playing on the radio, so I thought I'd make a pun out of it.
  18. Red, white, and blue, the funny things you do, America, America, this is you. And about as famous as football on Thanksgiving is baseball on the 4th of July. So let's do it! I'm keeping it simple today because I'm typing this on my phone. Collin McHugh (9-3, 4.51) vs Clay Buchholz (6-6, 3.48)
  19. Whoops.... Shows you just how little I've been following things over these last few weeks. I've been too busy.
  20. Altuve and Springer will find that they love the wall, but no one else will do anything.
  21. And to think that I was going to do it... I think my mojo has been one of the best in this relatively dark season.
  22. So Carlos Carrasco is putting on a show right now... And he's on my fantasy team. This is beautiful
  23. I have good news: We have won 4 straight when wearing the 2015 uniforms.
  24. Even if they don't do anything, we're not out of it. I usually don't look at standings until the ASG, but we're 6.5 games out of a playoff spot. That's not too shabby considering how bad we've looked at times.
  25. We're not out of this. Stop acting like we are.
