  1. Wow, A-Rod sure juiced that one out the yard.
  2. My GT, my rules. Plus, I didn't feel like it today.
  3. Yankees (46-39): Ellsbury CF Gardner LF Roidriguez DH Teixeira 1B McCann C Jones RF Gregorious SS Drew 2B Figueroa 3B Red Sox (41-45): Betts CF Holt 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Ramirez LF Sandoval 3B Napoli 1B De Aza RF Leon C
  4. Oh yeah you're right. Lackey said he wanted to, and the next night, Dempster did it.
  5. We've been waiting for this day all week, if not longer. We thought we would be closer than 5.5 games, but the fact that we aren't isn't our fault. We took care of our business and they took care of theirs. So now what? We take care of them. How nice would it be to go into the All Star Break 2.5 games out of first place and 1 game below .500? But, if somehow that doesn't happen, winning the series is a must. A must. We need to keep making progress. We've won the last 4 series. That's a streak that could go on for a while. We're still in this thing. A win tonight and we will likely come out of the cellar. After all, the Rays are playing the Astros. Let's make this rivalry fun again. The only "fun" I remember was when Lackey threw at A-Rod a couple years ago. Because, as some of you may know, I was too young to remember the fun of 2004. Since then, the entertainment value in this rivalry has gone down significantly. That's gotta change. RHP Michael "Pine Tar" Pineda (8-5, 3.79) vs RHP Clay Buchholz (7-6, 3.27) Wait a minute. Does our starter have a better ERA? Are my eyes deceiving me?
  6. Looks like Bogaerts isn't going to make it. He was still in last as of this morning.
  7. The hardest part of all of this is trying to come up with a good name for the GT, especially when we play the Yanks.
  8. I've voted for Xander about 800 times today. No joke.
  9. I just came home from my game thinking that I forgot to make a new GT. Guess I'm not used to 2 off days in a week.
  10. We've also been getting productive outs, which is a key. Earlier in the year, it seemed like we would only score on sac flies and home runs. Now we're getting a mixture of HRs, RBI hits, and productive outs. We're finding ways to manufacture runs, playing small ball, all of that stuff that good teams do. Weaker hitters are playing the scenario, hitting the ball to the right side to move the runner over, taking pitches in order to work walks with 2 outs, and getting the ball in the air (or to the right side), to score runs on outs. It's been nice to see.
  11. Does the Cincy FO really want to let him go? He's leading the NL ASG Final Vote and how much of a let down would it be for the fans that are voting for him nonstop all day to see him play the ASG at his own park, and then be traded about a week later? I don't think that's realistic. They don't expect him to be traded. At least Phillies fan have known all year that Hamels is probably going to be traded.
  12. Glad we're on the same page.
  13. Did you not see what I said after that? RSFFL said that if I meant to say it, to stick to my guns. I didn't mean to sound that harsh, apologized, and was being sarcastic when RSFFL said the same thing. And then, on this very page of the thread, I asked if we could move on.
  14. But I don't. So let's forget it and move on.
  15. It's all good. I'm not going to take back my apology, and still regret what I said. I'm not going to worry about it.
  16. You're the most obnoxious, unfunny person that I've ever met.
  17. Okay. I got you. Understood.
  18. At your services. *Bows head, acknowledges applause from audience*
  19. I said pretty much the same thing and got attacked by him and Spud, and was obligated to apologize.
  20. For some reason, I prefer Hamels over Cueto, and I really don't know why.
  21. Say we get into the playoffs, and play the Astros or Twins. If he caused George Springer or Torii (again) to leap over the wall, and give us a big win. Are you saying that you still wouldn't like him?
  22. I regret my prior comment and apologize to those who found offense, especially you, SCM, although I don't agree with what you said in the PM you sent. Spud, you're right, that was out of line.
  23. Well then, so are the Phillies.
