Around this time last year, Americans were going nuts over the World Cup. In the madness and chaos, a chant came out into pop culture. It was not a new chant, but it took our great nation by storm.
I…I believe…I believe that…I believe that we… I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN! I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN! I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!!!!!
And I do believe. And so do you. You believed in 1967. You believed in 1975. You believed in 1986. You believed in 2003. And, finally, we all believed in 2004. I turned 6 on the night of Game 3 of the 2004 ALCS, the game that the Yankees infamously won 19-8. But I believed. We believed again in 2007, when we got down 3-1 to Cleveland. And then we all believed in 2013. We believed that Big Papi would make Torii Hunter flip over and the bullpen cop rejoice. We believed that Victorino would send us to the World Series, because we didn't worry about a thing, believing that EVERY LITTLE THING (was) GONNA BE ALRIGHT! And I believe in 2015. Since January, I've been saying that another World Series is on the way. As we have found out, anything is possible if you just believe. Keep the Faith. Believe in Boston. We still have time. Turn this ship around. It started Friday, and continues now.
Eduardo “Our Savior” Rodriguez (2-0, 0.61) vs Miguel “Not Michael” Gonzalez (5-4, 3.54)
How do you think the Orioles are feeling right now? They got rid of Eduardo Rodriguez in the deal for Andrew Miller. They missed out on both of them. Eduardo is looking better than Kershaw and MadBum put together, playing for an AL East rival, while Miller has found his role as a lockdown closer, with another AL East rival. Buck probably has steam coming out of his ears just thinking about it. And what rhymes with Buck? Let's do that to 'em tonight.
