  1. It always strikes me how close places like the South End and Northeastern are to places like Roxbury. Even where I live in Quincy has changed. About 5-10 years ago, my block was dangerous
  2. In 2018 (and to some extent last year), our random roster moves paid off like that.
  3. I wonder if the Sox and Celtics are staying in the same hotel this weekend. I know the Sox always stay in SF when they play in Oakland. Can't say I blame them. I've been to the Coliseum. The surrounding area is not what I would call the place to be...

I understand the draw, and I am not political enough to care about the semantics of the situation. Doesn't matter to me. I won't suddenly stop rooting for him
  5. Not sure if this was posted last night or not, but last night, the Reds won at Fenway for the first time since the '75 World Series
  6. The weather tonight is absolutely gross. If we don't get this one in, I can't think of anything worse than heading into a 10 game West coast trip after being held to 1 run over two games against last place teams
  7. Since interleague play was expanded when the Astros came to the AL, it's not uncommon for teams to have Memorial Day off, just like any other Monday. The 4th of July is on a Monday this year too. I'd be curious to see if anybody has that day off as well
  8. Would have gone today if it weren't a night game.
  9. That's cool! I think it has been well established on here that I am from the same small HS in Connecticut that produced AJ Pollock of the White Sox. We are not from the same town; the HS is regional
  10. Gee, our starting pitching sure does suck...
  11. So, Game 6 of the Finals will be the night before my next CPA exam, across the street from my next CPA exam. Can we wait until Game 7 to win it? Or just sweep. Thanks
  12. We might start this on time, or very close to it. The timing of the thunderstorms was quite perfect
  13. So, in the 6 game season series with the White Sox, the Red Sox went 2-4, but outscored Chicago 38-23
  14. The game outside of baseball is the vastly more important game anyway. Glad to hear it!
  15. I was sitting down the RF line about even with the pole and I thought that was a can of corn. Boy did that thing carry. Did not have that special sound to it off the bat
  16. LET'S GO!!!! First time I've ever seen a walk off in person and it will quite literally never be topped
  17. I will be there again today
  18. Oh man what a fun game!
  19. I find it amusing that all of a sudden, most of the doomsday naysayers on this place have gone into hibernation
  20. 90s today and tomorrow. Strange considering it was in the 50s on Thursday and mid 60s yesterday
  21. It's actually quite a bit warmer than last night. I was walking around Boston Common in sweats last night
  22. I sat through the game in which Flexen completely locked us down
  23. I don't remember it being overly cold here in October last year. My birthday was the day of game 2 of the ALCS and it was warm enough to eat lunch outside with my parents in shorts. You could be onto something there.
  24. When I was at the game on Monday I noticed that the wind was blowing straight out, so I assume that was the case on Tuesday. If you pair that with Nate being a fly ball pitcher, it's not hard to understand why the Astros teed off on him. We have definitely turned a corner now (I know I've been saying it since last weekend but going 3 straight series without a series loss is progress), so I'm not worried about our bats. When it gets hot and humid up here, the wind does down considerably, but the ball naturally travels farther in the heat. I guess it comes down to whichever team is better hydrated!
  25. The difference in temperature at Fenway this weekend has to be some kind of record for one series. Under 60 tonight and then 95 (potentially closer to 100) on Saturday
