    DD spent a quarter billion on Price, and the rotation is still in shambles. DD then traded away the most consistent starter on the team for a guy who has pitched 3 innings this year and is looking at surgery. He then traded a haul big enough to pull in a #2/3 starter for Kimbrel. The best players on this team are still Theo's guys. Dave's acquisitions have added maybe 1 or 2 wins to this team.

    Fortunately he has a few years for voters to warm up to players with mild PED links. Once Bonds gets in, it will change perspectives a bit.

    Yeah, but it seems to silly to praise DD for extremely expensive acquisitions that have been pretty mediocre so far.

    He hired all the right people, and his first game was excellent. His vision was just too big, and had his studio working on too many nonprofitable things. There were interviews of people saying he would walk into a room and tell the team to throw out weeks of work because he wanted something else. I also never understood why they were trying to work on three different games when they had the money to work on one.

    Just curious. Who has DD acquired that has significantly improved this pitching staff? Smith seems damaged, Price has been ineffective and Kimbrel has already blown a few leads/ties.

    Jackie Bradley, continues looking like an All-star. I'm so glad this team didn't give up on him.

    I hate to say it, but no one replaces Papi. There will be a big hole at DH for years to come because no one will be able to do what he has done.

    I'm very happy to see Hanley being a valuable player for the Red Sox. That being said, is he really any more valuable than Mike Napoli would have been here?

    I can't believe some of the guys on the current Cubs roster... most of them I didn't think were still in baseball. Ryan Kalish? I was legitimately surprised he was still alive. Fedex? David Ross? Trevor Cahill?

    Keuchel has been getting crushed all season. My bet is on the Red Sox bullpen for this one.

    I know Owens and Johnson haven't shown much yet, but I'd go with potential over AA starter any day of the week. Thumbs down from me.

    Ben traded Lars Anderson for this team's current ace. Boom.Mic drop.

    Castro thrown out at third base!! Woah, you almost never see that happen.

    Trout is the best player since Bonds. He's averaged 9.5 wins a season. He's 24. He has lots of team control left. If you can get him for prospects only, but no chance in hell that happens. Eduardo Rodriguez, Steven Wright, Moncada, Espinoza, Devers, Benintendi plus a few others might get it done, but its a no-win situation for either team involved. Then you have to pay to extend him.
