  1. Hell I'm not even saying to take money away from them, maybe donating some of the additional signing. They were involving in a cheating scandal... Why do they somehow end up with MORE money afterwards ? Am I the only one who finds that strange ?
  2. Anyone in need of a SS/3B/2B? Somehow I ended up with some very good ones. Looking for a high end OF/DH/1B type or starting pitching.
  3. Can someone explain to me why the players get to keep the money? f***ing seriously. Have the MLBPA donate it to charity or something, these players are f***ing with the system, and now they get to keep their signing bonuses, and get additional money on top of it? How does that make any f***ing sense?
  4. I don't care if Wilkerson is a AAAA scrub, YOU DON'T TRADE PITCHING DEPTH. If the Sox never made the Wade Miley trade, that 5.36 ERA would probably have us in first place with this offense.
  5. Allen Craig had OPSes of .425 and .444 in 2014/15, much worse than Howard.
  6. DD has done a pretty s***** job with the rotation, as far as I'm concerned. He spent a boatload of resources, and somehow managed to trade away the team's best starter in 2015 for practically nothing. If he hadn't got a miracle out of Steven Wright, this team would be in the basement of the AL East.
  7. Probably the right move. Stash him in AAA, save 2 million a year on the luxury tax. Maybe he'll finally figure it out... maybe he won't.
  8. Wait, two games? That's all I get? f***. I really miss Eastern time.
  9. One run seems reasonable, especially if you can put Ortiz anywhere in the lineup you want.
  10. Walking Hanley to get to Bradley? Sure why not.
  11. West Coast trip! Hooray! I can watch these.
  12. I mentioned this in the main thread, but this team has a lot of guys in contract years. I agree that there is a chance they trade a few guys for top notch prospects, but those guys are the same ones that they also might want to extend next year. Chapman is only 28, so they might very well consider keeping him. You missed Nova, who is in a contract year. If he has a couple good starts before the trade deadline he's certainly worth something. Beltran's age might hurt his stock significantly, even if they pay that contract. I imagine Miller is gone. I don't see them getting someone of Erod's quality, but he's still worth a haul.
  13. This Yankee team seems like a prime candidate to pull in a wealth of prospects. Chapman, Nova, Beltran, Sabathia all are all on the last years of their contracts and Miller certainly is a juicy trade chip.
  14. 27 million for 2.7 years of James Shields seems like a steal. We paid 13 million/year for Dempster afterall. I don't care if Shields would averaged a 5.00 ERA at Fenway, he's still would have been a huge improvement over the guys in the #5 spot now.
  15. The AL Central looks scary right now. The defending champs, plus a beastly rotation in Cleveland, plus the Tigers, and now the White Sox locked in on Shields? Who wins that division?
  16. I'd rather have a guy here who might turn things around instead of a guy who won't turn things around.
  17. Henry Owens has been doing okay in the minors. He might be able to make it out of the 4th inning for us.
  18. So uh.... its still only the top of the third.
  19. At this rate, it may very well continue.
  20. Here's the question: Should the team who plays better win? Yes? Then automate strikezones. No? Then keep umpire calls. Seems simple to me.
  21. 5 home runs in two games for Mookie. Woah.
  22. They keep putting up statistics. Kelly's pitches are strikes 53% of the time. His ERA is among the worst in the majors. He's so bad that we might see Buchholz in long relief behind him. We might be seeing more of Sean O'Sullivan in the coming months.
  23. I worry about ERod's health, and have a nagging concern about a knuckleballer pitching like an ace all season. That being said, it seems like another lockdown bullpen arm might be more valuable to this team right now.
  24. The Red Sox shouldn't be too concerned about taking on a big salary simply because free agency next year is junk. The smart move is to spend money now, and spend talent this offseason.
