  1. A-gon interview on NESN now!! He's wearing a bright red tie. This guy is awesome.
  2. Can anyone confirm Ethier's 2012 status? This is his third arbitration year, for some reason, Cots Contracts lists him with "Arb 4" for 2012. Or is this a Super Two thing?
  3. This can't be true. Strasburg?!
  4. My sig will stay up for irony's sake. Although, it still sort of works.
  5. Is girlfriend another word for "A-gon blow-up doll" ? The girl I'm dating got jealous of mine this weekend.
  6. Actually, it looks more like we all thought you had said "Maggy". Ordonez/Guerrero/Manny/Jermaine Dye. Picking up one of these guys on the cheap, using them to give Ortiz time off against tough lefties, and in stadiums where they can handle the field. Get it done.
  7. On another note, there is still one other big RH bat LF still available... Manny Ramirez back to Boston?
  8. In all fairness, he was the one who countered Heymann when he made the statement saying there would be no deal.
  9. The beauty of Lowrie is that after not playing for a year and a half.... he came up and crushed the ball when he came back. This is a guy that will not get rusty sitting on a bench, who can switch hit, and do everything you ask of him-- and that includes having the pop to replace corner infielder offense respectably. And because of the injuries, he knows he has to absolutely earn everything.
  10. I misread you earlier, I thought you meant the Sox should have forseen the Werth deal. I think the Sox figured Cameron would have hit 25 home runs, and played good defense, as he did in just about all the ten seasons prior to when they signed him. They definitely weren't expecting their #1 offensive prospect--who happened to be an outfielder-- to be struck by tragedy either. Still, I believed it back then they should have gone with Holliday over Lackey also, but I think Lackey does a lot of very important things for this team--most specifically, giving innings, wins, and protecting the young arms, all of which he did as well as anyone could have hoped last year.
  11. A .669 OPS, and middle of the line defensive catcher. Why does his name come up as much as it does?
  12. Holliday-- 7/120, career .931 hitter, signed at age 29. Very good defensively. Has been the picture of health his whole career. Werth-- 7/126, career .848 hitter, signed at age 31. Solid defensively. Has missed chunks of his career with injuries. Will decline with park factors. The Nationals overpaid by a truck load because they had to. No big stars would come there unless they completely blew everyone else out of the water, and that's what they did.
  13. Yes, yes it was. He's a very comparable player to Jason Bay, and yet he got TWICE as much money. There is no way anyone could have foreseen that.
  14. The number I keep hearing is 2/20 for Ordonez in Detroit. I think if the Sox bite the bullet and give him a third year, they can get him. 3/30 for a .300 hitter is better than 7/125 for Werth.
  15. 99. For the numbers of times people on Talksox jerk off to posters of him per day.
  16. I think this move singlehandedly brought Youk enough popularity to beat out Suns for most hilarious Talksox poster of 2010.
