  1. You can't tie for a wild card now. It's whoever has the better record between the teams since its already a one game playoff thing. Besides thats would be pretty crappy cause you'd have to throw CC or Lester to make the wild card then go play the Angels with Beckett or Kurado and if you win that game then move onto like the Tigers and have Verlander vs Pineda/Nova or Buchholz/Doubront to start an ALDS series best of 5.
  2. Good game from Doubront. Can't complain about that at all.
  3. Bryan Mitchell was pretty stellar last night. excited about him, DJ was pretty good too. I personally would of let Phelps start and called up DJ. I just think DJ would be a way better option in terms of a long man.
  4. What? I just got home looks like it was a good game so far. Nova looking really strong, even though it's the O's. 6IP with only 77 pitches too. If only Hughes could learn to do this. Dude uses 77 pitches per inning it seems.
  5. I'm not an Ibanez fan but that was a legit homerun.
  6. Doesn't look too nice. https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Open%20dislocation%20ankle&gbv=2&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1920&bih=953&sei=dcxtT522C8yq0AGDsZWUBQ Hopefully he can recover but wow.
  7. You'd think he would of learned his lesson about drinking from the Red Sox last September. But seriouslt drinking and driving isn't cool at all. Punishment should be higher than it is for that kind of thing.
  8. I'm 99% sure its the one where the spoof Hitchcock's Rear Window. Bart jumps on it and breaks his leg then sees what he assumes is Ned murdering his wife. Great episode and love the movie too or now that I think about it, maybe it was a pool and diving board?
  9. What a stooge. I get he wants to play with his kid but come on use some common sense. Trampolines are very dangerous. Check out some youtube videos. I wonder if they can cut him loose like they did with Boone, save 2.5 million in the process.
  10. If they ban chew from the game cause they found out it heeightened your senses, should everyone who chewed it be labeled a cheater? Pettitte took it to heal faster, not to pitch better and it wasn't illegal at the time.
  11. I know it's ST and stats are meaningless but Zoilo Almonte has impressed me a lot. Having good ABs so far. I hope he sticks around longer and doesn't get cut mid march.
  12. Obviously Williams will be a Riverdog, Heathcott maybe in Trenton, maybe in Tampa. cave and Santana will hopefully be in SI with Santana moving up mid season. But where does everyone else slot?
  13. To some degree. He does have good stuff, no denying that. They read up on their prospects just like you do with the Red Sox or Jackson does with the Yankees. If you traded a guy like Alex Wilson and everyone on here was saying he could be a middle of the rotation pitcher I'd put some stock into that.
  14. Really the only guy who could knock ARod off 3B within the next three years is Laird and he isn't going to be a starter on the Yankees. Bichette and Duran are the two that are very exciting and they are still teenagers. It's nice to have them for when ARod can't handle 3B anymore.
  15. My thoughts are the same as yours bud. Honestly give me Soler before Chavez and Ibanez. I think Jones can do some work at the Dh spot and Vazquez, Maxwell and Braynan are good pieces to battle it out for the last bench spot.
  16. Diego Moreno coming over to the Yankees. Could be a nice find, according to several Pirates fans they had him pegged as their future closer. Throws 97 mph but NH wasn't a fan and didn't promote him fast enough. The other guy looks very meh but the key to the deal was getting AJ off the Yankees and clearing some cap space to go after guys like Damon, Soler and Chavez.
  17. idk I'd rather let a kid like Romine have to fight for that spot than just hand it to him, he hasn't played too much about Double-A too. In other news AJ axed a trade to the Angels. espn.go.com/blog/new-york/yankees/
  18. idk if I'd hand Romine the job at the start of ST, assuming if we trade Frankie I'd try to sign a f/a backstop to a minor league deal ASAP, even before going for Chavez
  19. Sherman reported on XM radio that rumors more players are in the deal, maybe Cervelli?, along with AJ and Cash for better prospects. Cervelli plays with a lot of fire, but as a backup catcher he can be replaced easily with Romine.
  20. Jon Heyman @JonHeymanCBS Yankees/Guardians talk revolves around aj and travis hafner. cleve unsure it would do that swap. yanks also don't mind the FA DH options AJ for Hafner? Honestly I know Hafner will handcuff us since he can't play the field but can Ibanez and Damon still? Even if they do will they be even below average out there? I'd do a Hafner for AJ swamp.
  21. Dumping AJ looks more realistic each day. MLB Radio said the Royals are now expressing interest, they could be one of the 4 teams interested. I think the White Sox could be as well. The key is next year we'll have one SP under contract, CC. Then guys who are under team control like Pineda, Nova, Hughes and then Banuelos and Betances who will each have another year of developement under their belts. They'll have about 128 million in contracts next year, but will probably resign Mo and maybe Swisher. Raises to Gardner, Robertson, Hughes, Joba, Cervelli and Logan as well. They is also the slim to none chance Soriano opts out of his contract in a weaker closer market assuming he has a good year.
  22. Just wondering what you think your opening day 25 man roster will be. As I'm not a Red Sox fan I'll just post what I think the Yankees will be. Lineup C- Russell Martin 1B- Mark Teixeira 2B- Robinson Cano SS- Derek Jeter 3B- Alex Rodriguez LF- Brett Gardner CF- Curtis Granderson RF- Nick Swisher DH vs RHP- Johnny Damon(signs for $3 million) DH vs LHP- Andruw Jones Bench Eduardo Nunez Francisco Cervelli Eric Chavez(signs for a million, beats out Billy Hall in ST for the roster spot) Then of course Jones or Damon will be on the bench whoever isn't starting. Rotation SP- CC Sabathia SP- Hiroki Kuroda SP- Michael Pineda SP- Ivan Nova SP- Phil Hughes(Hughes can't cut it, you still have Garcia waiting in the wings along with Warren, Phelps, Mitchell and others in the minors) Kuroda in the #2 spot takes pressure off Pineda. Bullpen RP- Freddy Garcia RP- Ceasar Cabral(beats out Hideki Okajima in a ST battle for the second lefty in the bullpen) RP- Cory Wade LS- Boone Logan SU- Rafeal Soriano SU- David Robertson CL- Mariano Rivera
  23. It doesn't im just throwing it out there. I couldn't believe they were actually excited about getting AJ either.
