  1. The workload from 2012 will screw Logan this year, thats why I want to dump him more than anything maybe we could get something solid. I like Cabrera, I'd try to sign Perez who was cut lose from the Guardians too to a minor league deal.
  2. Even though he's older, I like Ronnier Mullister a lot. I'd love to have him on the bench and be a super sub at 3B, RF and LF and maybe even 1B if he could handle it. I'd love to give him a chance. Personally I'd trade some bullpen arms out, Logan and Joba and maybe even Robertson if the right deal comes along.
  3. Looks like a baseballamerica list where they key their lists more towards fantasy sports players.
  4. There's no way we get Upton AND Bauer for Cano. I would deal Cano but I don't think we do. I'd actually deal away Cano, Granderson, and Hughes. I do agree Joseph and Adams seem like good options, now they're no Cano obviously but I wouldn't mind seeing them given a shot. Granderson to either the Rangers for Olt or the Mariners for Walker.
  5. I'd deal Granderson to the Rangers for Olt or the M's for Walker, myself. I wouldn't sign Hamilton though.
  6. I'd actually love Olt. Something like Olt for Granderson maybe. Lineup would be after those two trades: C: Ramos 1B: Tex 2B: Desmond SS: Jeter 3B: ARod LF Ichrio CF: Gardner RF: Morse DH: Reynolds Rotation CC Kuroda Pettitte Hughes Phelps/free agent signing, Pineda coming back too Mo/Robertson/Joba/Aarsdma/(I hope we sign Soria too)/Cabrera/Rapada
  7. Yeah I had figured Granderson gone, Gardner in CF and I was trying to think about LF. Sorry I didn't explain it too well haha. My friend was thinking about a huge trade with the Nats.. Cano, Hughes(or Nova), Nunez and Logan for Desmond, Ramos, Morse, and Rendon. I hate to give up Cano, but getting a package like that would be a pretty good get. I think they'd want Nova more than Hughes, since Hughes would be a f/a, my friend actually had Hughes in there first. Desmond could play 2B for next season.... Morse could fit into RF, Nats get their starter, upgrade at 2B, get a SS and a power lefty in their bullpen. Edit: I forgot I'd aslo send Adams or Corban Joseph to the Nationals too.
  8. I'd like Soto too, he makes sense. A ST trio of Soto/Romine/Stewart and see who sticks. I'd look at Reynolds too, he'd be nice to have to plug into 3B, 1B, and DH, maybe he could even see some time in LF? I'd honestly put Hughes and Granderson on the trade market too. See what they could bring in. Granderson to Texas and Hughes to the Royals, Twins, or Rockies maybe.
  9. My top 10 Yankees prospect list.... 1. Mason Williams, when I first started to follow the Yankees farm, we drafted Austin Jackson. I watched him move up each level, but I was never a huge fan cause in my youth I was all about power. I've wised up and know a guy like Williams will impact this team beyond anything I could of dreamed of back in 2005/2006. I'm really excited to see Williams up in the majors, hopefully as a September call up in 2014. 2. Gary Sanchez, I have a feeling we'll have two top 15 prospects this time next year in Williams and Sanchez. Sanchez follows Montero's hype. Reports are he's supposed to be a better catcher too, but I'm not sure what to believe, but I do believe in his bat. 3. Slade Heathcott, Austin would of edged him out but after his numbers in AFL... you could make a case he's #1 in the system. he's got the tools, but does he have the health? I love how he plays all out. Give 110% on the field, and you should have the respect for any man. 4. Tyler Austin, Austin makes me feel good about the scouting we have. Finding a gem like him is better than finding a gem in the first few rounds in the draft. He's not a HOF, but I think he could be a very solid guy in the lineup, something how Youk was for the Red Sox or even O'Neil was for the Yankees. 5. Jose Campos, sure he lost almost the entire year to injury, but I LOVE his stuff. He could be a legit ACE in the making with 2012 just being a bump in the road. 6. Jose Rafeal DePaula, Stuff alone puts him here for me. 7. Ty Hensley, really excited to see how this guy does in his first full year. I'm not expecting him to have great numbers, just learn how things are done and improve himself as a pitcher in 2013. 2014 is when I expect him to make a push up the lists. 8. Manny Banuelos, two back to back lost years for injuries, really sucks to see. 9. Angelo Gumbs, I'm a believer in the swing. 10. Dellin Betances, why do I have him here? I believe he'll make an excellent closer. In fact if we don't sign Soira I think he'll be the closer in 2013. Sleeper: Jose Ramirez. I think he breaks out this year. Big time fastball to boot.
  10. And hopefully Logan Morrison, would be a nice buy low option. Re-signing Ichiro is a must now too. OF sets up like Garnder in CF, Granderson in LF, Ichrio in RF. With Morrison seeing a lot of playing time too, assuming he hits.
  11. I'm assuming the Dodgers will sign Kuroda, in my mind at least.
  12. Well I'm not saying sign them and be done with the off season... I'm assuming we re-sign Pettitte, Mo, Martin, Ichiro, chavez... Oswalt could be a nice 5th starter. I'm assuming he's going to get something around $4 million base plus incentives. Hafner could play a good role with the Yankees if he gets hot. Again I'm assuming he's not going to make bank out there or get two year deal offers.
  13. Just a crazy trade... Jays gave up some talent but I'd expected the Marlins to aquire at least D'Arnaud. Jays still have a pretty nice farm system intact too.
  14. I wouldn't mind taking some more risks this year. Maybe gambling on Hafner and Oswalt? They shouldn't cost too much. If Hafner is willing to accept a minor role, like part time DH option unless he gets off to a hot start. I just wish things got rolling a bit faster, like re-signing Mo and Pettitte, and hopefully Martin too.
  15. Might as well clean house... Carlos Santana would look great in Boston.
  16. No. They're no free agents who are 26 or younger. The Yankees outfielders are at least a year away in the minors. Hunter would be a perfect fit. Assuming he'll take a one year deal. He's the kind of hitter that lineup needs. Not a 30+ homerun hitter in every spot.
  17. My friend who is a big Guardians fan always tries to play GM with me every year and ask me deals. Last year it was Chris Perez for Nick Swisher, this year he went a little larger and asked Granderson and Nova for Choo, Lindor, and Sipp. I usually laugh off his deals but this one kind of perked my interest. Guardians get their power hitter to plug between Cabrera and Santana in Granderson who can make short work of their own short porch and a cost controlled pitcher to add to their less than impressive staff. While the Yankees get a top 30 prospect in Lindor, a solid lefty in Sipp to add to Logan(Who I'd look to trade), Cabrera, and Rapada, and then Choo to replace Swisher. I'd re-sign Martin 2 years 11 million, 3rd year team option for 7 million or a one million dollar buyout. So he'll at least make 2/12 which I think is pretty solid. Also re-sign Mo, something like 1 year 12 million? Pettitte again, one year $6 million? Obviously I'm not going to hit these salaries dead on but within a couple of million. I'd be on Dan Haren, one year $10 to 12 million, similar to Kuroda this season. Torii Hunter as well. I've always liked him and he hits well with RISP. One year $8 to 10 million? Same thing for Ichrio. I know, both Ichiro and Hunter seems a little much but with the DH spot open, I think we could get them all enough ABs. Chavez being re-signed as well, one year $2 million. CC Pettitte Haren Hughes Phelps -Pineda could come up and help as well later on. Pettitte, Haren, and Hughes will be in their final years of their contracts too, so they'd really need Pineda to step up this year. 2014's rotation could very much be CC, Pineda, Phelps and a prayer. C: Martin 1B: Tex 2B: Cano(I'd try to lock him up) SS Jeter 3B: ARod OF: Hunter, Gardner, Ichiro, and Choo DH- spot would be open for Hunter, Jeter, ARod and others. Bench: Nunez, Stewart/Romine, Chavez and Dickerson(I'd look into Nyjer Morgan too) Mo, Robertson, Joba, Aardsma, Sipp, Cabrera(Logan traded away), and Phelps/Warren/Eppley The bullpen would have room to grow with a lot of good young arms coming up as well. Joba, Aardsma, and Mo will most likely be in their final years too. Salary would be around 202 to 204 million, again, but you'd again have a lot of money coming off the books for 2014 and could really get under the 189 limit.
  18. Call me crazy but I wouldn't make block buster deals or huge free agent signings. I mean im not a red sox fan but I certainly know what its like to be a fan of a team. You all want to go out and sign Hamilton and Peavy and Haren, thats fine and all... but that solves your 'problems' for what a year or two and then they become what the Yankees have with ARod. Look towards your future. Call 2013 a building year, no pressure on your team. Make sure ellsbury stays healthy so you get your draft pick when he leaves. See what you got with Kalish. Call JBJ up mid season even, like the O's did with Manny. See what your young players can do, don't go out and block them with long term deals. You may suck again next year, but 2014 you'll be more set up. Middlebrooks will have a full season under his belt. You'll see if Kalish is a major leaguer or not. Doubront and Morales will of had their shots and be more in a groove. Who knows you could be the Balitmore O's of 2013. It's time to build a team and you don't go from ground zero to the penthouse over night. I think you have to get rid of Aceves, even if you have to non tender him. Same for Melancon too. Give real shots to your pitchers like Tazawa. Although it may not be easy to accept.
  19. The O's make me wonder.... They're not that great of a team, but they get the job done. I guess a lot of that has to do with Buck. Starting Saunders here... I thought for sure was a mistake. I think the Rangers have a giant off season and acquire David Price(Cruz, Olt, and Perez) and Justin Upton(Andrus, Martin, and Loux, maybe another prospect too). Letting Hamilton walk though.
  20. The statistics are from OPOTA and from 2009. I'm just going on from what I was told. I'm not saying OVI is a good thing though
  21. About 77% of Americans do it. Thats reckless vehicular homicide, it's not that long of a jail sentence, I believe 10 years if it's your first. I just took a 60 hour course on ADAP, it was the most boring thing ever, but I found out how easily people can get out of the ticket/jail.
  22. A cadet in my class was pulled over and blew a .224 the cops called him a ride home and made him write a 2 page report about the dangers of drinking and driving. He later asked it be bumped up to a 5 page report. Later on that night he got the s*** kicked out of him by another drunk too. Same cops showed up at his house.
  23. Don't buy Cody Ross. He's not going to be with the red sox after this season.
  24. when you say some other pieces thrown in, you mean the red sox would be throwing in more pieces right?
  25. Yankees are looking at Chase Headly. Not a bad fit.
