  1. I'd either sign Romo right now, or let Kelley close. Miller and Dellin mixing in the 7th and 8th innings. Maybe going two innings each and switching off. Warren in the 6th inning or matching with Miller. Wilson doing the same for Dellin. Not sure if Jacob starts with the mlb. I'd like to see Mitchell get the 5th starter role. Even if we're able to add a starter, move Phelps into the bullpen or trade him away.
  2. I forgot Prado is under contract. I'd still be interested to see what Weeks would want. Moncada is the only the one I really want though. Kind of like last year with Tanaka. I hated seeing McCann, Ells, and Beltran signed.
  3. Well we have about 180 committed to payroll. Like I said re-sign Chase(4/50) and BMac(3/46). Moncada gets $42 million from us too. I'd try to sign Rickie Weeks too LF: Gardner CF: Ells DH: ARod 1B: Tex C: McCann RF: Beltran 3B: Headley 2B: Weeks SS: Pirela Romine Ryan Young Wheeler(Could be a ST inivtee or a f/a) Tanaka Pineda CC McCarthy Phelps I'm not worried about the bullpen at the moment. I think we should go with a mix of what we have.
  4. If we didn't have Beltran I'd be for signing Tomas. But cubans are getting out of hand what we're paying them. I'm okay with just resigning McCarthy, Young and Headley. Letting the rest walk and collecting a pick for Robertson. I'd offer Kuroda a QO too. If he takes it fine, if not meh. C: McCann/Cervelli 1B: Tex/Prado/Headley 2B: Prado/Ryan SS: Pirela(give him a chance)/Ryan 3B: Arod/Headley LF: Gardner CF: Ells RF: Beltran DH: ARod/Beltran/Tex Bench: Young/Ryan/Cervi/ and then F/A or ST inivtee Hopefully Tanaka is healthy, Pineda, CC, McCarthy, and Phelps Our bullpen should be fine without any additions, even if we lose Robertson. I'd be fine with that team, if you need to make moves you can do so during the season, like we did last year. i would like to sign that Cuban teenage hitter though. Can't remmeber his name at the moment.
  5. I thought they had a max bid of 20 million
  6. I remember in 2008 during the off season and being all excited about spending money, now... this has been a pretty s***** off season.
  7. I would think Red Sox fans would be praying the Yankees come in and top that offer or at least match it. Having Cano for ten years at that price would be another A-Rod or Tex or Giambi... or Ellsbury.
  8. I know this is just a person's suggestion and not a rumor, but this wouldn't be so bad... http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=22345 I'd hate to monty go, but if that PTBNL is someone like Kalhne or another potenional rule 5 guy who falls through the draft unpicked, then I'd be okay with it. Reminds me a little of the nick swisher deal, but we'd be actually giving up a decent player and taking on a higher salary.
  9. I like this signing a lot. He's not a great player, but he could put up some solid numbers.
  10. Dude he was injury prone. Even freak accidents count. I don't like the deal much at all, but let's see how what happens next. I think Gardner might have to be traded now. Just thinking out loud. Plus seeing what Gentry brought back for the Rangers.... I might deal Brett.
  11. Just thinking about the top prospects in the system, it's a solid system currently, but has the chance to really take off this year. My top prospect list for the Yankees, as follows.... 1. Gary Sanchez - no brainer here for me. 2. Rafael DePaula - Love the arm, could be a top of the rotation starting pitcher. No denying the stuff. 3. Mason Williams - Young, fast, could add some power to his frame, still a big fan of his. 4 tool players are still hard to find. 4. Eric Jagielo - Good power bat in a position we will need major help with soon. 5. Aaron Judge - Big project but I'm a huge personal fan of his. 6. Tyler Austin - Had a down year in 2013, hoping for a rebound 7. Greg Bird - Big year for him, let's see if he can do it again 8. Slade Heathcott - I could see him coming up in 2014 in the outfield, some time in August 9. Manny Banuelos - missed 2013 with TJS 10. Ian Clarkin - Almost went with Campos or Hensley here, Ian's the final 2013 first rounders we got. Young lefty with good stuff.
  12. What do you think Balfour gets?
  13. the Yankees have a solid farm system. Nothing too special though. This year they had a lot of injuries and players didn't take any steps forward.
  14. No don't go balls to the walls, but yeah I agree get Tanaka. We need him more than any player this off season. Even with the uncertainty.
  15. Yeah Kenny Williams loves african american OFers. I bet he'd trade Mantle for Juan Pierre.
  16. anyone have any serious bets on what the package will be, if they even make a deal?
  17. He's not an elite hitter... He's a good hitter, but not an elite.
  18. Yep, he's been awesome so far. Did you see Mike over at RAB and his write up on the current top 30. No Peter O'Brien cause he's no longer a catcher and is 'too old' for high A ball. He just turned 23 years old 4 days ago.
  19. Well you can never look at GCL stats, most of those guys are throwing straight fastballs. I'm intrigued by Katoh, but not expecting anything other than an org guy until he can prove he can hit in full season ball. On a side note... Greg Bird with a grand slam and a good day.
  20. I was hoping we'd be able to snag McCarley, but I love Cortes. I like the draft class too, although I'm not sold on Jagielo or O'Neil. Fowler looks like an interesting prospect in the mold of Jake Cave, who I like.
  21. Thats a really good deal for the Red Sox and I don't hate it for the White Sox either. They were going to let him walk for nothing so might as well grab something. I used to and still do to some extent, like Jacobs as a prospect. Thornton will help the Sox and they gave up someone they weren't going to use. Good deal!
  22. assuming Judge gets done, my top 15 propsects 1. DePaula (I know everyone has Sanchez first, but I'm just a big DePaula fan) 2. Sanchez 3. Heathcott 4. Judge 5. Austin 6. Williams 7. Ramirez 8. Murphy 9. Banuelos 10. Jageilo 11. Hensley 12. Clarkin 13. O'Brien 14. Flores 15. Montgomery/Bird Hopefully we can sign Molina in August to add to the system too. It's not a top system but its around the 9 to 12th range. Respectable, with room to improve. If Encinas hadn't gotten hurt and continue to pitch that well I would of switched him for Montgomery. Loving what I'm seeing from Jake Cave too, been in a slump recently but he's had a good year.
  23. glad to see him signed, hope Judge is next for around slot too. I'd love to have enough to add Bridges and Fowler too. or just Quintril haha.
  24. They drafted Brackman in 2007, then Cole in 2008.
  25. He can be. Denney was not, is not going to sign for slot. You can take the money you'd save by not signing Denney and use it on Sheffield. Ball's price tag is going to play a major factor in if they can get both Denney and Sheffield though.
