I just have this uneasy feeling DD does not get Martinez and the Sox take a band aid approach to adding power. This is why I have been saying re-sign Moreland.

That would be great even if I don't care for the kid. I don't believe he will get 400 mil but someone is going to pay him. Get rid of the Fatboy and Hanley contracts first. Or at least the Fatboy contract.

I would like to see him at second but only at a decent price. Of course it would be Sox luck that they get him and he goes on the DL too.

Just saw a report from Olny saying that Martinez SHOULD command about 6/150. Is he actually worth that? Do fans want the Sox to spend huge just to have more power? I don't like the price and duration. I don't like the idea of DD doing little or nothing to address the lack of power but the Sox are in a pickle if they want more runs. I'd like to be able to count on our star players having better , more productive years in 2018. I just don't see enough of that happening to make a big splash worthwhile. Maybe filling 1st base with one of the budget options and getting more pitching is the way to go. I would love to see Abreu at 1st but not if we weaken another position ( like CF ) to do so.

I think he plays somewhere. GMs saw his first half two seasons ago and will give him a look. Dombrowski need to find two starters and maybe a relief arm or two and somehow add some offense. Maybe make quiet moves and go in on Harper next year.

This is not a good off-season for the Sox so far. This thing with Wright is just another example. I am not so sure what he did wrong other than argue with his wife as it has been reported that he did not hit anyone. Still, I can see the Sox releasing him and looking for another 4-5 type. Wonderful.

Neither was elite talent. But to me, they were "real men" as catchers. They looked the part and they were physical. I miss that part of the game.

SCM33 is one of the nice guys from way back. He is the type of guy that you would go to for help if he were your neighbor. The fact that the new crowd does not like him is a feather in his cap as far as I am concerned.
