  1. I missed the game entirely as company converged. Glad to see that they won. 11 and 2 baby!!1!1!11
  2. I am reticent about chasing most of these unproven international big ticket stars. The only one I thought would really be good was Suzuki.
  3. I have no need to get that last word in. I merely do not agree with your opinion. The one that you keep repeating.
  4. I think you are right. He traded the obvious replacement away without bringing in another 3b man. Between Hernandez and Holt he probably figured they could get by for the short term at least.
  5. AH! Was Dantley there when you were there? ~75-79?
  6. He did. It must be said that Cleveland was motivated.
  7. No. That would be Wayne "Tree" Rollins of Atlanta, I believe. By the way, I shot around with Rollins in 1973 and 1974 at the Wild Shootouts in Boston. He was all legs.
  8. About the Marlins eating any of Stanton's contract. I kind of doubt that they would want another big contract back to offset and I don't think they will swallow any of Stanton's deal either. The Statue has clearly said that the Marlins must get down to 90 mil so they need to shed 40 mil. It would be almost impossible to reach 90 mil without shedding the entire Stanton contract. Of course Jetter could have his head up his ass. Who knows?
  9. When did Dombrowki ever say Pablo was the answer at 3rd base? All along he said that Pablow would have to perform to be the starter and that he would be given that opportunity. Stop making s*** up just because you have an irrational hate for the man. Pick on something obvious like the way he combs his hair or the cheesy used car salesman wardrobe.
  10. He does have a cannon. He just needs to work on his footwork and tone down the hurried throws. At the same time he needs to know when to hurry up because the batter can get down the line. He is 20. And while at least one big brain here believes that 4 years of pro ball should be enough to be a good defender and that because he is not presently one he probably will never be one I say just work with him. That is exactly the type of thing Cora is very good at from what I have read. Patience.
  11. Watch the Celts. They are fun to watch now. More so than last year.
  12. Lol. We are old and it's f***ing cool. We can go on and on for hours about s*** younger people have to Google to know fact one about. I think I may have met Mel Counts. Not sure, though.
  13. Moon we are talking about back-up centers for the Celts not the Anti-Christ! We all loved to hate Lambier but he had skills. They were overshadowed buy his dirty play and bullying. Pretty sure most Celts fans would have loved him in green. You know. Like a Hanson brother.
  14. Wow. That is the kiss of death.
  15. That infield is grim compared to one with a healthy Pedroia and Moreland but it could still be decent if Devers steps it up.
  16. Another guy who has to attack someone just so he can have the final say. I saw the SS from opposing teams 162 games or just a bit more than I saw of bogarts. Do the math smart guy. I knew of both Cain and Buxton but I had not seen enough of Buxton to form a strong opinion of him one way or another. I have never believed Cain is in the same category as Keirmier or Pillar. I anxiously await your retort since I can't stand having the final say on any subject. Let's have it tough guy. Put me in my place because it must be done!
  17. We were talking about Dever's footwork, not Bogey. And no one here is claiming that Bogey is above average defensively. He is what I call "serviceable" which means around average. But I get it. You need to have the last word.
  18. Joe Klein had a good pedigree but was a great white nope none the less. I saw him play in Arco Arena in Sacremento, 1987. He sucked balls. Nice guy, smart man and articulate. Good teammate. Not very skilled. More like Tom Borwinkle than Bill Walton. You guys have to do better. Take Walton out of the mix and Baynes is the best back up center for the Celts since before Hank Finkel.
  19. Obviously I was referring to the banged-up Walton that could hardly walk in 1986, not the UCLA / Early Portland Walton. Embry was before my time. He was GM in MIlwaukee back when I was a teenager going to the Garden.
  20. Bengazi ... e mails! UZR150... DRS!!!!!!1!! Your post reflects a stark difference in those that observe the minutia while watching each game versus those that memorize spreadsheets. You see WHAT is wrong. They see that the numbers indicate that SOMETHING is wrong.
  21. I had to think about that but yeah, you are correct, Sir.
  22. 10 in a row baby! No Horeford, no prpblem. Baynes is the best back up 5 the Celts have had since Walton. And for anyone who is stupid enough to think they are comparable drop dead because you are too f***ing dumb to waste what breathable air remains on this planet. I like wide bodies. Big guys who bang in the low post still have a place in this league, it seems.
  23. Wow. That is f***ed up.
  24. Park his ass at Childern's Hospital and let Harvard figure it out.
