And Jeter was charged with bringing the payroll down by 40 million to no more than 90 million because the business plan does not work at any higher number. That is what I read a while ago, anyway. That franchise is f***ed. They have had a lot of talent over the years. They seem to just piss it away.

This news that the Sox are pursuing singing BOTH JD and Hosmer has me puking. I'm fine with JD but an over-pay for a largely lateral move at 1st is just dumb.

Maybe there is little interest in Ellsbury? My guess is the Yankees would have to eat about half of his contract to find anyone to deal with. Just my guess. No way he is worth his current contract in my mind.

Yeah I don't know the details but if that is the case I am surprised that NESN has him back particularly given the current climate.

Speaking of Steve Lyons, I saw him on a NESN report from Orlando last night. TC was doing most of the talking but I thought it was interesting to see Psycho on NESN since he was suspended for spousal violence or something like that months ago. I have no problem with him. But that is based on the assumption that he did not smack his wife.

Exactly, Bell. That is what I see as well. Every team would be pleased to have our battery. There is no reason to screw-up a strength of this team by making a change.

I think this is probably how most of us feel.

I think they can be okay. Certainly two things that will need attention is the SS 2nd double plays and how fluid and mistake-free they can be and of course Dever's throws. Both things could be improved and should be. I don't see Hanley as a dire liability even though I'd like him and his contract gone. You are right, none of them are plus defenders, but none of them should remain really bad either. We will probably see!

The bulk of the reports that I have seen involved the family saying what did and did not happen and the police have stated that there was no physical violence.
