I do understand that San Diego is very nice. Seattle has a huge Japanese and Asian population and culture. SF has a good sized one too. And LA is LA. I hate the f***ing place but everyone else seems to like it.

San Diego has a high livability rating but Jesus why would a Japanese kid want to play there when he could play in Seattle, San Fransisco, or LA? Unless he hits a ball like Judge his alleged power won't play there at all.

Well part of it is that everyone is conditioned to get their panties all wet with the shinny new toy from another country. That and lack of a draft for such players, I guess. I have many misgivings about Cuban players.

Yeah I sort of expect that but what else? Adding one of those guys approximately replaces the production of Moreland and the team is essentially the same offensively. What other pieces would then be added to make the team better?

What are the chances DD comes up empty handed in seeking a big bat? If he does not get Martinez or even Santana or Abreu, what then? What other moves could he make to bolster this team?

This is what this forum has become fairly recently. Over and over and over about the same topics. Clutch, batting order, and the cliff are the biggies. Talksox has always had some spirited discussion and even some s*** storms. Once a topic ran it's course it was done. Now many of the same people keep bring up the same old tired and useless topics.

I had never heard of this cliff other than a couple of people promoting the idea here on Talksox. The local media speaks once in while of the Sox being in "Win now" mode but no reference is made to any cliff.

What was your question? I read and heard that Brentz had redone his approach and swing and the results seem to indicate success with the changes. Will it translate to MLB at bats? Who the f*** knows? He is like most other players in that regard. As for his defense, it is nothing outstanding but he is serviceable and I do not believe he will be a liability in left. I have never seen him play center and I am not sure about right. In any case, he has an audition for a 4th of spot and he has earned that audition. He either makes it or he does not make it. I won't lose any sleep over his status one way or another.

My point is easy to understand. Kopech has not been on the verge of promotion and daily use in the bigs. He never has been.

He was too busy being a defender of Boy Blunder and holding Moon's hand to notice, I guess. If DD f***s up bigly I expect all here to lambast him with harsh words.

How many times did you see Brentz play AAA in 2017? 50, 60, 70 games?

No smart guy. The point is that Moon said something that was clearly wrong and a700 was polite ( initially ) in pointing it out. Kopech was nursing a broken hand or something 3 years ago. In any case Moon was incorrect in saying Kopech was near ready. He has never been that.
