A few quick points (most of which had already been made but I'll at least highlight who I agree with)
1. Boston was on Justin Upton's no trade list. We couldn't get him if we wanted him. I'd like to think that we wanted him, as I'd sure want Justin Upton on our team, and for the price the Braves paid I'd make that trade.
2. I think the Braves gave up a "meh" package for Upton. It's not bad, but it's miles apart from the package Seattle would have given them. Unforunately for them, Seattle was also on Justin Upton's no trade list. The Braves gave up Martin Prado who is a good ML 3B, and a few prospects such as SP Randall Delgado and Ahmed, SS prospect Spruill, and maybe even a 1B prospect in Drury. Don't forget that the Diamondbacks also sent 3B Chris Johnson in the deal. The Braves definitely won the deal.
3. In my opinion Arizona departed with both Trevor Bauer and Justin Upton for clearly less than market value. I agree that personality and character appear to have a high value in Arizona.
4. Arizona has been targeting Detroit's Rick Porcello for a while, and it's been postured that one of the SS prospects (one was acquired in both the Bauer and Upton deals) could be sent with a pitching prospect to Detroit for Porcello. Either way, true or not, I don't think Arizona is done.
