Likewise there are a bunch of new names I don't recognize. I've been sporadic lately since hitting the real world. When I go back to school I'll likely post more, if I can remember. I'm facebook friends with a bunch of people from here anyway so I almost feel like I'm posting on Talksox when I post on facebook.

One of my college buddies is at the game. He's American but of Mexican descent (a Dodgers fan) so I'm not sure who he's rooting for. He actually got a pic with Adrian Gonzalez and his twitter pic made it to the jumbotron.

Who the hell is on Team Italy? I remember that they tried to fill the team in the Olympics with Americans (like Mike Piazza) but I can't think of who they'd have that would beat Mexico and demolish Canada. I doubt reincarnation exists so it's not Joe DiMaggio.

This goes to show that there are FAR more important things than baseball. While his baseball career may be over, the kid has plenty to look forward to as he lives the rest of his life. I would have loved to see him do well on the Red Sox, but I am happy that he has a long life to look forward to. I'm still a fan of his. -

In addition I feel like posters of a certain age tend to migrate as they get older and into the real world. I used to post here all the time when I was in college, then I graduated and went to work and fell of the map. Maybe now that I'm going to grad school this fall I may post more. (No promises) That combined with the offseason can explain the quiet waters. Hopefully everyone returns shortly. (At least the good posters) -
I think you're both right. The numbers are impressive. The numbers are slightly discounted because of the fact the game went to two overtimes. Settled?

It looks like the Celtics gave up Barbosa's expiring contract and Jason Collins. I think it's a good deal, however I think they really could have capitalized if they were able to deal Pierce to Brooklyn (I think) and Kevin Garnett to the Clippers. That said the deals on the table for those two weren't "must do's" therefore I don't blame them at all for staying put. I also wanted both deals to happen to increase the talent on teams not named "The Heat"

I'm surprised because Tim Duncan seems to be better than that. Bosh should stop shooting 3's regardless of whether it's an All Star game. And it's 2013 and Kobe is still styling on LeBron.

I looked at the box score and it says Tim Duncan attempted a 3 pointer and that Bosh attempted 3 3 pointers in the first half. wtf?

I've long since stopped watching dunk contests (and all of any non MLB all star activities), so I just saw a clip of the completed dunk online. I didn't know it took that many tries. If I was the network I'd have just edited out the misses and shown the last clip of the dunk.

I liked the painting dunk. Not because of the dunk but the idea of dunking over a painting of himself dunking.

If you're not going to win it all I'd much rather tank for the better draft pick. Either win it all or lose it all. I also wish that teams could work together to trade players to no longer make the Heat the best team in basketball. (I know this is silly so there's no point in quoting to tell me that)

I'm just hoping they don't win, they have one title. That's enough. I realize how hypocritical that is since I'm a Spurs fan, but I'd rather see the Thunder win than the Heat.

Brian Scalabrine is an honorary black guy imo. He's so white that his whiteness exploded within itself like a black star, so maybe that technically means he's black on the inside. I don't know, we need an expert opinion.
