  1. I'm definitely a big fan of the deal. I like the numbers, although I might have chopped off one year, but I'm fine with the contract as is. What I enjoy even more is GOM getting assaulted by everyone else on the board. I've never seen so many things wrong with a single post. You deserve what you get, dude. You should quit while you're only THIS far behind...
  2. I was watching that game and when it happened I went nuts. That was an amazing play.
  3. It seems like that's the popular injury to have these days...might as well get it while it's "cool"
  4. It's almost as if spring training is some sort of indicator for Lars's success level when he makes his debut in a few years...
  5. I'm not a fan of soxprospects.com personally, so I try to avoid it whenever possible.
  6. When I read the title of this thread, I just assumed that Curt Schilling had lost a lot of weight. At least Pedroia is more pertinent and humourous.
  7. It wasn't as bad as the one laid to Jeff McInnis back in college. I forget who did it, I don't think the player made it to the NBA, but it was in an ACC matchup. The guy crossed McInnis outside the 3 point line, McInnis fell over, the other dude offered to pick him up (while dribbling) then as McInnis was about to get up, the other dude pulled his hand away and shot (and made) the 3-pointer.
  8. I chose between the Giants and the Reds. I personally like the Reds better as a team, but I chose the Giants because of the crappy division. Could you imagine if the Giants got Manny? (doubt it)
  9. I'm still trying to get the Sox here in England...I'll figure it out eventually...
  10. It's funny because when I first joined I thought that many of you guys were adults, anywhere from late 20's to early 40's. Over the past week or so I've learned that many of you frequent posters are teenagers or ower-class college students. (Lower class as in freshman or sophmore) At least you guys are more "acting your age", although occasionally that's precisely the problem...
  11. I also doubt that Bard is as injury prone as Joba. I think Bard can also handle his booze better...haha. Comparisons go both ways you know...not surprised that you conveniently forgot that...
  12. Agreed. He's a great asset to our bullpen, he's been reliable at worst, and we'd have him relatively cheap for another few years--even at our discretion!! The only way the deal could be better is if Okajima cloned himself and we didn't have to pay his clone...but short of that, this is a great deal.
  13. I was at a playoff game in 2003 (the only one the Sox lost to the A's). Every other game I've been to the Red Sox won. I went to two games last season, vs. the Yankees (7 to 5) and vs. the A's (12 to 2). The latter was Jason Bay's 2nd game in Boston. The one game I went to in 2007 (vs. the White Sox, Boston winning 11 to 2) was Kason Gabbard's last start in Boston before that horrible trade)
  14. Maybe it's just their way of ensuring that they get a high draft pick next year...
  15. Click on "User CP" on the top left of the page, and then click "edit signature" around the middle-left of the following page. The rest is pretty self-explanatory.
  16. What should happen with revenue sharing then? I mean in your example...
  17. I don't think you can say that Curt moved on...he'd still b**** about his Philly days if someone cared enough to ask him...he'll be ripping on New York hoping that people will listen to him well into his retirement...
  18. I agree with the general consensus. I think there should be a price cap as well as a price floor. The Marlins are just as guilty of cheating the system as the Yankees are...
  19. Likewise, Griffey (and Randy Johnson) were my 2 favourite players growing up. If it weren't for intervention on behalf of my Uncle...I probably would have been a Mariner's fan...
  20. I still like Penny over Bartolo Colon....
  21. I always figured that JimEdHOF or GOM would get banned before Diony...
  22. Wow, I guess I totally got served....I'm no match for Diony...hahaha
