  1. I give you an F for being a Yankee fan....woooo!!!!
  2. Yeah, I'd give it a B+ at the absolute lowest, most likely an A-. The only things I didn't like were signing Varitek at that price (I think he could have gone lower) and signing Mark Kotsay. For the record, I had said that I didn't like the Kotsay signing long before news came around of his surgery. This just compounds it. And although I do wish we had Teixeira, part of me is glad that we don't have to pay him, lose a draft pick, deal with the logjam etc...
  3. Fair enough for me....
  4. Yeah Kotsay/Varitek were the only signings I wasn't particularly happy about. And I gave the Varitek signing a break considering the market and the reduced price. Maybe that makes getting Dunn a little easier...haha j/k...
  5. I've only been to 1-2 Celtics games ever. Then again I'm not big on going to NBA games, nor am I a Celtics fan...
  6. I would have been there DipreG if I was needed. I just wasn't needed...
  7. True, but so far that isn't going his way. He'd probably need another MVP season to bolster the market for him so he CAN then sit back and let Manny be Manny, just in 2010 instead of 2009.
  8. I think I'll sit this one out...you can find me when the back and forth accusations cease...
  9. I just don't see how he'd turn that down. He'd make great money now, and with it being 1 year, he can rake for that year and earn a bigger raise the following season. From what I've read there wouldn't be a great FA class next year, particularly in the corner OF market. Manny will take a little pay raise now in hopes that he'll have a great one after an "easy" season in the NL West. But hey...sometimes $25 million just isn't enough. I'm hoping he makes less than his option amount from Boston...
  10. Does paying these players have anything to do with not drafting the best player available? In order words, is the NBA draft similar to the MLB draft in that regard?
  11. Over what? How Johjima is supposedly better than Clement? You're sounding as if Kilo and I are dumb for not agreeing with you.
  12. Co-sign.
  13. This also makes me wonder what kind of competition the Steinbrenners will be facing...
  14. Wow, now I know someone in life that went to my school...well besides Arthur Blank...
  15. In a weird way, I'm proud of him....hahaha
  16. I don't know, I'd go for it and go for Clement. This is of course, depending on what the Mariners ask in return. I personally think that if we took on some salary from the Mariners, that we could get Clement without having to give up much in the way of prospects. I'm not sure about specifics, but if we took on someone like Washburn's contract, we should be able to give up less prospects (perhaps keeping Buchholz) in order to obtain Clement. I'm not saying I recommend the situation to occur in such a fashion, but it's a tactic that could be used to obtain a higher quality player for a more reasonable return.
  17. Yeah, we could totally give Seattle a fair deal for Clement. Their farm system needs help after the Bedard fiasco. We should have Seattle's GM on speed dial.
  18. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised to read the box score in the morning...if only the game didn't start at 12:30 am my time...
  19. I did say that Dice-K worries me in the sense that I can't watch his starts because of my blood pressure, but I'd predict Dice-K to have better numbers overall than Beckett. Maybe not the same numbers that you may look at, but pretty or not, Dice-K gets it done.
  20. As a point of information, Bowden was drafted 5 picks after Buchholz. They were both taken in the same round of the same year.
  21. To be honest I'm more worried about Beckett than Dice-K. Not necessarily in terms of injury, although Beckett has had more injuries so far, but rather, in terms of effectiveness. Beckett seems to be overrated in terms of his effectiveness, as he hasn't had many "amazing years". I know Dice-K hasn't been in the league that long, but unless Beckett goes back to his 07 numbers, then Dice-K looks like he'd have a better year. Dice-K obviously has his baggage, as I'm yet to be able to watch a Dice-K start without changing the channel due to high blood pressure, but I'd count on Dice-K before I'm able to count on Beckett, that's all I'm trying to say. I'm prepared for people to try and jump on me about that...
  22. Pun intended?
  23. Welcome dude, nice name
