  1. Whatever state it is, at least it isn't New Jersey.
  2. I've been to at least 4 Sox games. 1 at Old Yankee Stadium and the rest at Fenway. The Red Sox only lost 1 of those games (3-2 to Oakland back in 2003). The most recent games I went to were a 7-5 win vs. the Yankees at the Old Yankee Stadium, a 11-1 home win vs. the White Sox (Kason Gabbard's last Red Sox start) and a 12-1 home win, and an 11-1 (or something close to that) home win vs. the A's (Jason Bay's 2nd Red Sox game) I also went to a few Yankee AA games in which they've lost all of them thus far.
  3. I don't think that I have enough energy to kick all of our relievers in the balls.
  4. If we were to lose this one, it would make the last 10 run collapse seem pedestrian. Considering last time we were on the road, there was a rain delay, and it was against the Orioles, who despite sucking, have a great lineup. This time, we're at home, and against the Royals. Giving up runs to a sub-par lineup. This would be an epic way to blow a chance to pull a game away from the Yanks and Rays.
  5. This is slightly more adventure than I planned for.
  6. I want to give a savage beating to every Yankees and Rays fan out there with a cheap smirk on their faces. If they're lucky I'll stop at a savage beating.
  7. On another note, I think I'm going to start warming up for Boston. Wish me luck.
  8. Consider me more of a hybrid. Born in England, lived a bit in the US and England, in school in England but probably going to grad school in the US. Also I relatively frequently go back and forth between the two.
  9. It was a friend's bottle. We were looking to finish it because it had been sitting there a while. I don't like gin all that much (for an Englishman), I mostly prefer a good cask ale, cider, and rum over gin, but hey, 20 quid is 20 quid. And I still have my pride and unwritten drinking title. I've even beaten all of the Americans that I've seen around here. But then again we have our stereotypes about Americans and alcohol...hahaha.
  10. I never bet 40. It was 40 centilitres of gin for 20 quid. Quid is another word for "pounds" which is a slang term for British currency. Saying "Quid" instead of "Pounds" is like saying "Bucks" instead of "Dollars". Next, a "quid" or "pound" is roughly worth $1.50, so 20 quid is worth roughly $30. So I won roughly $30 for chugging 40 centilitres of gin. I'm not sure of an exact conversion, but 50 centilitres is exactly half a litre (makes sense), so take a fraction off of that. Let's just say it was a f***** lot of alcohol. I hope this makes sense. To say that I'm lashed is an understatement, and I'm obviously writing this from a British perspective, so I'm not sure how to phrase it in an American perspective. Does that help?
  11. My apologies mate. Even though we "technically" speak the same language, there is a world of differences in our lingo. These differences are exacerbated when either one of us is particularly lashed, as is the case currently. I'll try to translate if necessary, and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
  12. Anyway, one of my mates bet me 20 quid that I couldn't chug 40 centilitres of Gin. Gordon's Gin to be exact. Man that wasn't easy, but it was 20 quid well earned. Now if only the Red Sox can win this one, I don't want to have to drink until I think they won like I did a couple of nights ago.
  13. There's an ignore list? And all of this time I've been stuck reading GOM's posts....
  14. Thank you. Thus far I haven't broken anything. I can surprise myself sometimes. We just totally suck balls today. At least it's a deserved loss instead one of those heart wrenching close ones that we should have realistically won. Then again losing at home to a crappy team is never ok. F*** it all.
  15. We had a chance to pull one from the Yanks since they finally lost, and now we continue our losing. Damn it all. I need a beer.
  16. Brian Tallet, Garret (who until today I thought was named "Greg") Olson, Brian Anderson (and I'm assuming Dallas Braden tomorrow). I'm so mad and I'm not even mad at all. I'm just depressed. This blows.
  17. Today it's looking like the entire lineup stinks.
  18. The first 2 losses were painful, but at least we have something to show for the weekend. Now bring on Oakland!!
  19. 1-2 is a whole lot more tolerable than 0-3.
  20. or the increasingly popular Lugo Beckett Lars Anderson Lester Terry Francona Reimond Fuentes Wakefield Theo Epstein Jason Bay (batting left handed) Should get us around the same amount of run support.
  21. We're boned. In the words of the great Bender, "Abandon ship!!!" Then again Bender was the one to say "We're boned" as well...
