  1. If Iglesias is playing poor 3B defense why don't we have his better defense at short and put Drew/Holt/Snyder at 3B? Would Drew at 3B and Iglesias at SS be better defensively than Iglesias at 3B and Drew at SS?
  2. I wouldn't do that deal, but again I don't see Peavy as a valuable upgrade, and I like Owens. The most I feel I'd be willing to give up for someone other than Cliff Lee (based on who is available) is Middlebrooks + Workman + Brentz (and to be honest a bunch of the starters out there might not even be worth that)
  3. I'm all for trading Middlebrooks I'm just not particularly a fan of dealing for Peavy. At this point I'd trade him to the White Sox for Crain (and who knows, maybe an international draft slot) if I believed Crain was healthy enough.
  4. I don't think Peavy did much either.
  5. I assume that "lower level" means like Single A rather than "lower level" as in a C prospect, especially if the Cubs are eating a majority of the money.
  6. I'm happy with the Yankees getting Soriano and I like the idea of Theo getting some young prospects, between the Garza/Feldman and now Soriano deals.
  7. Another reason to trade him might be that if we get a starter, he's the piece that leaves the rotation. For example, if we trade for Peavy, and Buchholz comes back, what does our rotation look like? I initially had Doubront as the "prospect" I wanted to trade away for a real starter at the beginning of the season but now that Doubront has shown he can not suck, Workman becomes the odd man out imo. Sure, we can technically put him in the bullpen or stash him, but I think of the top 10-15 prospects, Workman/Brentz are the two I'd probably lose the least amount of sleep giving up in a trade.
  8. It's like Suns never left. At least the grammar/spelling has improved.
  9. I really like Ranaudo so I'd be hesitant to move him/Barnes/Owens but I guess he'd be the one of those 3 I might be most likely to move. I'd be hesitant to move any of them unless I felt we were getting a clear and necessary upgrade.
  10. If we gave up Bogaerts for a pitcher...other than say Sale/Kershaw/Harvey etc...I'd violently storm Boston with burning pitchforks.
  11. Unfortunately that's a lesson I'm learning about the real world. The majority of people are *******s. That's why I'd rather chill in my apartment playing video games than meeting people. Just because it's everywhere doesn't make it right. Some are guilty of it here way more than others.
  12. I also find a lot of the language on the site to be unnecessarily negative. For example, people tend to say "you're wrong" or "you're an idiot" rather than "I disagree and here's why" Just simple things like that.
  13. I love the idea of signing Brian Wilson, I'm not sure about signing Gonzalez, at least in respect for this season. I wouldn't mind him for future seasons (I definitely like that we don't have posting fees like dealing with Japanese pitchers)
  14. The Sox do have plenty of jetsam left that could be Rule 5 fodder so that could be a potential benefit to a trade. I'm not sure what we'd do with our rotation when Buchholz comes back if we have Peavy, but if a deal consisting of something like Middlebrooks/Brentz/Workman can get a deal done I'd take it. I'm not sure if the White Sox would take it for Peavy/Crain. At the most of the top prospects I'd only be willing to give up one of Ranaudo/Barnes/Owens
  15. Maybe even the Rangers too. I'd love to see the Pirates be a sleeper but that's probably less likely.
  16. I'd die laughing if Pete Rose made a twitter and started sounding off about this stuff.
  17. True, but I think you can argue that there might be one less buyer on the market. In addition if the sellers don't make a deal they can potentially hurt themselves as well, seeing as they could get nothing for a player that can leave them later on anyway instead of trading them for at least something.
  18. I'm not sure who I want to win this saga, if only they can both lose.
  19. SR, do you know where our farm system ranks in comparison?
  20. It's going to be hard not telling GM's to go f*** themselves when they ask for comparable prices that K-rod or Garza got.
  21. But if the price for that reliever was the 4th best prospect in the system, sometimes you can't blame him for standing pat. Yeah we need a reliever, but at that cost? I think more people would have his head for pulling the trigger on that than for standing pat.
  22. I wonder if we needed Uehara in a 6-2 ballgame, but I'm happy with a division win nonetheless. I'm amazed how Tazawa/Uehara are two of the only relievers that haven't been injured this year.
  23. I like K-Rod, I wanted him on the team, but I wouldn't give up anyone above the Brentz/Workman level.
  24. When was the last time we had a good third base coach?
