  1. Everyone posts this way.
  2. Whitlock was a good pick. Was Winckowski enough of a return for Andrew Benintendi??? Does anyone think this? Betts for Wong/Verdugo? Still doesn't feel like enough for a HOF RFer. Bernardino? No comment. Valdez/Abreu for Vaz was a good trade. Hamilton/JBJ for Renfroe was horrifically stupid.
  3. This guy can't stop hitting right now. @SoxProspects Johanfran Garcia went 2-for-4 with a home run (4) and three RBI (26) in today's 9-4 FCL Red Sox win. The 18-year-old catcher is currently slashing .333/.429/.571 over 126 PA.
  4. It also takes a loooong time to develop guys. People on here wonder why Bloom hasn't produced a roster of bonus babies by now. McClanahan was a college arm drafted in 2018, but he wasn't ready until 2021. Taj Bradley was drafted the same year out of HS. Their 1st round selection that year, Matthew Liberatore, signed for more than Shane AND Taj and now has a 6+ ERA (7.53 xERA) for the Cardinals and is in the bottom 1 percentile of k% for MLB.
  5. Red Sox didn't know Blaze would be available. They did hope they could go over slot, but they were happy to select Yorke. Yorke is now a near top 100 prospect so I don't think it was a big time miss for them. Not every 1st rounder works out. That pick was good. They believed someone else would have drafted him. They loved his hit tool.
  6. Also tied for the lead in WS wins over that time frame.
  7. @tylermilliken_ . @keithlaw dropped his Top 60 prospects list and the Red Sox have 4 names on it. 3. Marcelo Mayer 45. Roman Anthony 48. Ceddanne Rafaela 50. Kyle Teel
  8. Larry was the dirt worst... SoxFanForsyth should have pushed him off the Tobin.
  9. @K_Camp24 Officially a Red Sox!! @ChrisCotillo Red Sox signed 4th-rd compensation pick (No. 132) Kristian Campbell at slot value of $492,700, source says. Georgia Tech shortstop.
  10. Kristian Campbell (comp pick) signs for slot.
  11. And certain GM's were good at getting coffee, while others were good at dressing up as mascots.
  12. His BB rate is up and his hard hit rate is up. Do they really want to spend another 11M on a back of the rotation starter over the next 2.5 years?
  13. Jul 11, 2022 — Baseball America released a midseason update of its Top 100 prospects list Monday and ranks the 23-year-old right-hander at No. 24 overall.
  14. I don't see them missing out on either guy. Jud was a unique case. He fell far in the draft and still wanted top tier money. They have enough for the guys they drafted in the top 10 rounds. Call just may want to go to UCLA and hope to get a big paycheck in a few years.
  15. No HS player has ever signed above 475K after the 10th round from what I read yesterday.
  16. Stephen Scott since being promoted to AAA: 21 G 4 HR 22 RBI 13 BB 8 K 318 AVG 1003 OPS I know his LHB would play well in WOO, but only 1 of his HR came at home.
  17. These are the values I'm dubious about concerning BTV.
  18. He'd be cheap and the Sox need starters to fill innings rather than Joe Jacques.
  19. Jordan is not a 3B. He's probably not going to be a very good MLBer at this point. He struggles from level to level and he has a slow bat. He's not athletic enough to really play any position but 1B. We'll see how he handles AA.
  20. Bello was a top 100 prospect. Perales is close to the top 100 if he can have a fully healthy year. The system is batter heavy and that's where most of the top 100 guys will come from: Mayer, Yorke, Anthony, Rafaela, Bleis (Tell, Cespedes, Zanetello on the horizon). Lots of pitchers these days are simply TJ guys in waiting. Look at some of the top 100 guys who are rehabbing or got TJ this year. There's risk with every pitcher. Sox have a history with developing good hitters. Why throw the baby out with the bathwater? Jay Groome? Trey Ball? If you miss on the arms, it's devastating to the draft. Hitters are a more sustainable resource.
  21. Rest him and give him the best opportunity to look good before the trade deadline. Also, he's not the most physically reliable guy to begin with. If you can rest him you should.
  22. He wasn't right at the start of the year, which is why he went back on the IL. May - 3.25 WHIP, 6.90 xFIP, 18.00 ERA July - 0.50 WHIP, 1.19 xFIP, 0.00 ERA
  23. @SoxProspects John Schreiber worked a 1-2-3 seventh inning with a pair of strikeouts in his rehab assignment for the Portland Sea Dogs today.
  24. Would you give him an extension today? If so, how much?
  25. Yeah, if our only comps are HOF and HOVG guys, Bello should be amazing.
