  1. I think people's assumptions were that they left too much cushion under the CBT. The problem is that the online tools that calculate the Sox' CBT aren't great at the moment. We now they are under, but can only guess at how far due to bonuses and other issues. They can't go over this year, but I think people wanted them to get as close to the CBT as possible. Maybe some wanted them to spend like the Mets and Padres, but those are untrustworthy posters.
  2. This isn't Tampa North, obviously.
  3. I was providing him advice. He is quick to get worked up.
  4. They had a very legitimate sellout streak for a long time!!!
  5. I believe you have a problem with several posters on here. Sometimes you just need to relax.
  6. Yorke will be chilling in AAA. If he hits, he's just an Uber ride away if needed for Urias. I don't know what to say about Story.
  7. I'd rather have Yu Chang as an IF defensive replacement than Ref sitting on the bench.
  8. If we just need a weak side platoon bat to play corner OF, just throw Dalbec (career 853 OPS vs LHP) in LF. They've already started to transition him to the OF in AAA.
  9. No job is too big, no pup is too small. Rubble on the double.
  10. "You know who we have and you know there’s more coming. You know it’s not always linear. It’s not always easy. We’ve taken a couple of haymakers. You know what? We’re probably gonna take a couple more. This is baseball. It’s not supposed to be easy. But I want to be clear. We’re going to do this. It’s going to be awesome."
  11. Good thing Reyes can play the OF. Seems like they don't need Refsnyder then.
  12. I just don't see them signing a big dollar guy to play the field.
  13. 1. Rafaela CF 2. Devers 3B 3. Turner DH 4. Casas 1B 5. Abreu LF 6. Duvall RF 7. Story SS 8. Urías 2B 9. Wong C Game is now Houck vs King.
  14. Let's just run out a 4 man rotation.
  15. Why don't pitchers go back to throwing 300 innings?
  16. Ok. It's just that I think I've seen at least one or two other posts mentioning a look towards 2025.
  17. Rob Refsnyder is a replacement level player. If he left, the team wouldn't notice. His numbers from 2022 were fool's gold.
  18. Duvall could also backup 1B if necessary.
  19. They won't replace them offensively, but they'd improve the team defensively.
  20. I don't see them spending big on a positional player. If they did: UTIL: Merrifield Maybe bring back JT at 1/8M for 1B/DH.
  21. Roman Anthony is already in AA. I think the org is planning on him being in RF at some point by late in 2025.
  22. OPS in 2022 vs LHP was 775. OPS in 2021 vs LHP was 840. I'm going to have to disagree with the splits issue assessment for now.
  23. It's easy to say "just add a 3rd SP." However, the market for SP is always tight. You're competing with 1/2 - 2/3's of the other teams for those players. Henry spent all last season talking down to Steven Cohen so I don't see him just opening his checkbook and unloading this offseason.
  24. 2 guys that don't like to pitch over 130 innings? Pass...
  25. What kind of extension would you give him?
