  1. Devers is the same guy. He's just easy to pick on when things are going wrong.
  2. I'm not sure they really had prospects to deal in 2022 to make deadline deals. In 2023, they had a few guys they could have parted with that would have not impacted the future of the org immeasurably.
  3. Maybe should have tried him in CF this year instead of Duvall.
  4. You don't need a meaningful prospect. Just get under the CBT since you're planning handing out 2 QO's.
  5. Fingers crossed that he'll be able to do that next year!
  6. I didn't think he was going to opt out anyway. He's missed significant amount of time during his current contract. He's just going to ride this out.
  7. You didn't like that plan?!?!?!?
  8. If you go by errors and Fielding % (no DRS/OAA in Ortiz's day), he's twice was bad as 2023 Triston Casas and people want to make him the DH.
  9. It's both. Bloom was indecisive. Ownership has its own share of issues (letting Mookie go, overall direction of organization from year to year).
  10. Law has a hate boner for the Sox. MLB Pipeline just isn't very good in general.
  11. Troye has a 7.84 BB/9 in AA. He's Darwinzon Hernandez. Pass.
  12. That .180 SS, is a great fielder. The shaky defender is in LA right now.
  13. The comp picks go from 4th rounders to 2nd rounders plus additional draft money to spend that goes with it. That matters to me.
  14. @brendan_camp Roman Anthony “was the only hitter under 28 years old in the minor leagues to meet the following thresholds: A 90th percentile exit velocity of 105 mph or higher, a contact rate above 74%, an in-zone contact rate of 83% or higher and a chase rate of 20% or below.”
  15. I guess the wheat was Sam Travis, Michael Chavis and CJ Chatham.
  16. They were on an 84 win pace for most of the season.
  17. Well, they aren't getting 3 starters that's for sure.
  18. Isn't it ironic, don't you think?
  19. It's a free ride, when you already paid
  20. Sox always seem to have "a number" and rarely budget from it until they got to the Devers extension.
  21. A little too ironic, and yeah I really do think
  22. Also, Devers has never even practiced at 1B. Why would you just throw him out there now and not give him an offseason to figure it out? It doesn't make any sense if you're ACTUALLY going to try him there for really.
  23. We already have enough DH's. Why move a pre-ARB Casas there?
  24. Why wouldn't every organization spend a s*** ton of money on scouting? It doesn't cost anything against the CBT. You're spending money to obtain cheaper cost controlled assets rather than going the expensive aging FA route.
