  1. The Red Sox do have a GM. You should complain about him.
  2. We talk about non-tenders every offseason but nobody ever gets nontendered.
  3. He also doesn't really have a way with words.
  4. Ahhh, his stuff definitely looks like he hadn't throw a ball in 3 years. It's been rough. He's probably not a starter going forward unfortunately.
  5. I would imagine that a garbage team like the Nats or A's would have room for him the last two months of the year. They only have to keep him on the active roster for 90 days now. Easy peasy for them.
  6. I don't think they were going to get into the playoffs. The teams around them sold a bunch of prospects for a run this year. I think Bloom telegraphed that he wasn't ready to do that right now. This team isn't there yet. This team is still a few years away from being mature enough to make those moves.
  7. No, it would be a good idea to trade Rafaela for a 38 year old with a 4 ERA that is owed 43M next year. It's smart! There's no way you could spend that 43M in a better manner!
  8. The Red Sox weren't a playoff team every year when I was growing up. Some of you have really inflated expectations.
  9. Henry should use the money saved from cheaper players on extensions and FA's elsewhere on the roster. He's not going to spend it on other ventures. He's not a sole proprietorship.
  10. They traded a guy that could have been taken in Rule 5 next year (and someone nobody on here really talks about) for a guy who put up 2 fWAR seasons the previous 2 years. It's a fine trade.
  11. Chief Baseball Officer His main task is running the whole organization by managing the GM and other people in upper level management, not running the MLB team.
  12. I like the trade they did make. However, it shows that they weren't ready for a playoff push this year. If that's truly the case, they need to be a little honest with the fanbase rather than string them along with the "it's gonna be awesome" stuff.
  13. Where Bloom is going is the direction Henry wants.
  14. The minor move would be to obtain MiLBers.
  15. Orioles sold at last year's deadline when they should have added. That they have stood still is a plus! Sox and Yanks probably should sell IMO. Teams ahead of them have bought too much. Prices are high. @redsoxstats Robert Murray says there continues to be a lot of interest in Duvall, it's possible teams could pivot to Paxton and offer a package they can't refuse, and he's heard Bloom has been creative in trade talks.
  16. When was is ERA under 4?
  17. Sounds like he should be a reliever!
  18. Alex Hoppe promoted to POR.
  19. Rays making trades. Jays making trades. Astros making trades. Angels making trades. Rangers making trades. Red Sox?
  20. Number of QS: 2021 - 8 2022 - 12 2023 - 1 72 starts, 21 Quality Starts.
  21. In regards to Turner at 2b, it's not about simply defense. It's also about his age and health. Cora wants to take it easy on Turner and is worried that one wrong double play turn will take a huge cog out of the batting order. Turner is seen as a good fill in here and there, but won't be at 2b everyday.
  22. I'd keep Chang over Arroyo or Reyes. His glove is so good that it outweighs his horrible bat. Jacques' bad night last night is due to him not being a very good pitcher.
  23. @SoxProspects Stanley Tucker, the Red Sox 19th round pick in the 2023 draft, is playing center field and leading off for the FCL Red Sox today marking him as the first member of this year's draft class to get in the lineup.
