  1. And it was one takeout slide away from ruining Mookie's career. Not worth the risk!
  2. Sorry for your trauma. I'm not changing my opinion over a video filmed by Bauer to do damage control so that he can earn millions of dollars. Bauer is a piece of s*** online and seems like one offline as well as it exhibited by numerous non-sexual encounters people have had with him. Regardless of how people feel about the accuser, Bauer is now tied to it and the Sox would be f***ing stupid to sign him.
  3. The reason the Sox CAN NOT sign Bauer is because freaks like you are unable to talk about him without bringing this s*** up. It’s a PR nightmare.
  4. Evidence is that he beat the s*** out of her. Choked her out and raped her after she was passed out. Cool dude! I’m glad we keep talking about this!
  5. He’s an average SS with a below average bat (projected). He’s a GG CFer. Why plop him at SS?
  6. Not many of them are close to MLB, none of them have Mayer’s current ceiling. A few of them are certain to be moved off SS.
  7. No, Paulino, Bastardo and Castro won't be protected. That ranking is pretty high for Bastardo (#30 on SP). Bastardo is probably just a relief guy and he hasn't had great results so far. No reason to protect a guy like that. If he is selected, it's no big loss. Castro is still in GRE and is just too far away. A corner OF with only 7 HR's is probably not a guy that gets selected this year. Paulino had a terrible year and doesn't have a great ceiling at this point. Maybe just a utility guy? Similar to Castro, he's in GRE and is far away. At least Castro played well last season. My thoughts on 40 man protection: Wikelman Perales Drohan Gambrell (38) Penrod (49) and Scott (35) are maybes. Wikelman, Perales, Drohan, Gambrell and Penrod all have starter upside. Gambrell and Drohan could be used as spot starters early in the season. Wikelman may be ready later in '24. Unsure about Perales' timeline, but he should be in AA this year and is considered to have the highest ceiling of all the Sox arms. Scott has performed well in AAA at C and can hit a little so could function as a 3rd C/UTIL guy. Penrod is a unique case as he spent some time away from the game and then back in indy ball. He's on the older side so the Sox are probably going to try to rush him through the system next season after getting a peak at him last year. If they don't protect him, it's largely due to his control issues. He pitched will in the AFL (1.29 ERA in 4 GS, named to Fall Star team). Someone may take a chance on a high powered LH arm like his (97 mph).
  8. I disagree. Out of 118 qualifying starters (20 GS), Houck was 104th at 5.0 IP/GS. It is marginally worse than Sale's 5.1 (100th) and better than Crawford's 4.7 (114th). If you include non-qualified starters, Houck goes down to 154th. The average starter (Singer) goes 5.5 IP/GS. Bello led the team at 5.6 IP/GS and was 52nd. Whitlock averaged 5.2.
  9. It's "pull in case of emergency" in a perfect world. I would rather just send Whitlock straight to the pen though. Breslow needs to see that for himself.
  10. If we take Breslow at his word, it's just to get Houck and Whitlock stretched out, nothing more. They are prepared to start if the rotations needs them to rather than play catch up in March. That doesn't mean Pivetta is sent to the pen. I believe Pivetta will be certainly stretched out this offseason.
  11. You have over and over admitted YOURSELF that you need to have the last word. I don't know why it's ok for you to talk down everyone else as you post over and over and over again.
  12. Yankee fans deserve Hal Steinbrenner.
  13. I think that was Slasher's job. RIP
  14. Ah yes, because you are someone who truly knows how to refrain from giving their two cents on every f***ing issue.
  15. Tom Werner used the term "full throttle." I'm not going to be overly concerned about 1 year deals like Torres.
  16. We've asked you and Old Red to "just stop" for a long time. Complaining about me is like blaming the weatherman for the snow that's falling. I have no control over your incessant bickering.
  17. When two old men start reving their over priced Chargers at a stop light.
  18. Seems high to me, but I'm no expert.
  19. -3 OAA in 1200 innings at 2B isn't terrible. Valdez had -4 in only 350 innings (-14 in 1200 innings). Reyes was -2 in only 200 innings (-12 at 1200 innings). Urias was -5 in 400 innings (-15 at 1200 innings). Torres is so much better defensively than the guys we had last season.
  20. The only thing we can be sure about for next season: @tylermilliken_ Alex Cora revealed on @NameRedactedPod that the Red Sox will be rocking their City Connect uniforms whenever they’re home on Saturdays. Fridays at home will feature the red uniforms. Rest of the week will be whites. On the road, there’s going to be a lot of gray and the blue jerseys on Fridays. The rotation is alternates for Fridays (home or away) and City Connects for Home Saturday games.
  21. Stay lubed up just in case.
  22. Not sure he'd get to 15 in ARB when Happ and Hoskins got 11 and 12 last year. Devers only got 17.5 in his final year and his numbers far surpass Torres.
  23. Stretch them out now, so that they can go to the pen for short outings and then do a spot start later? Is that spot start going to be 3-4 innings long?
