  1. Being hot in AAA has nothing to do with how he'd hit in MLB.
  2. Sure, but they don't have the ceiling of Tolle. Let Tolle grow in AAA and mess around with the other guys. Tolle will be up by the ASB most likely, he just doesn't need to be up only because Kelly can't pitch. We already knew that. DFA Kelly. Call up Guerrero. Keep churning some relievers and find a guy that sticks.
  3. If the Sox win tonight, they'll have the same record (7-9) as they did last season after game 16.
  4. Walker was a bad defender last year, but metrics have him as average so far. It's April though. If his defense is average and he just repeats his '23 numbers the rest of the way, he's a valuable guy for the Cards. Not a whole lot to get excited about in STL right now as you can tell with the ticket sales.
  5. Castro will have a 750 OPS near the deadline and the Sox will deal him for a reliever. He'll play in the bigs, but most likely not here.
  6. For Walker, it's nice to see a former top prospect finally figure it out. I don't think he's going to get MVP votes this season, but maybe he's cementing himself as a fulltime player going forward. Part of me wonders if the path Walker has taken is what could be in store for KC.
  7. Cheng has never hit before this season. You'd bring up another guy that can't hit??? That makes no sense to me. Monasterio is a passable fielder and is getting on base.
  8. There's a lot more investment in KC and KC's ceiling is SO much higher than Durbin's. If you mess up Durbin, it's not a big deal. If you mess up KC, it's kind of a big deal.
  9. He's doing exactly what they brought here to do: play good defense and put the ball in play. I don't believe the 128 BABIP is going to look like that all season.
  10. A+ Wikelman: age 20, 17 IP, 3.18 bb/9 age 21, 63 IP, 6.00 bb/9 Valera: age 19, 38 IP, 2.37 bb/9 age 20, 8 IP, 3.24 bb/9
  11. We know Tolle can dominate AAA with one pitch as he did it all last season. He still needs to get his secondaries down before he's ready to be an MLB guy even just as a reliever.
  12. We can HOPE that Valera/Witherspoon/Eyanson will be MLB starters, but right now they are still just A ball guys that we are projecting. We spent a few years saying that Perales would be a starter and it looks like he'll most likely be a reliever for a different org.
  13. He has the best 3b DRS in MLB and doesn’t k. His batting average will come around.
  14. What does power have to do with being a grinder. Having long at bats and not striking out is more indicative of a grinder than power. He might not be hitting, but he’s grinding. It’s two different things IMO.
  15. Not being able to score on DUSTIN MAY is indefensible.
