  1. It's no different than the fantasy worlds where the Sox acquire Zach Neto or even Bobby Witt for crying out loud.
  2. "We want two bats. One of them is going to be the guy that was already on the roster last season, who I didn't really want in the first place. Does that sound like a great plan to you media folks?" I think that's the direct quote from Breslow's presser.
  3. 1. French 2. Budget under $1M 3. Talking inanimate objects I'm in.
  4. Duran is NOT a DUDE. In a few years, he's going to a be a "remember that guy" when you go back and look at Sox prior seasons. Ceddanne has a 112 wRC+ and 8 HR. That's NOT a DUDE. He's a good defensive player, but not a guy that should be hitting at the top of the order.
  5. Then the Sox should have made alternate plans. I wasn't a huge Breggie guy to begin with. Alonso/Contreras isn't about what Breslow would have done, but about what they SHOULD HAVE DONE.
  6. I already said the others would be moved if you read above. 👨‍🦯
  7. I wanted Duran traded for prospects. I would have DFA'd Masa myself. C'mon man. I've been talking about moving those two guys for forever. Not every post I make has to be 500 words long.
  8. He wasn't an injury replacement, he was up here when Wong and Narvaez were healthy. He was taking their catcher reps. He wasn't just filling in at 2b.
  9. I just wouldn't bet on pitchers above 35 to stay healthy over the course of several years.
  10. Replacement? Just throw Masa out there for the rest of the season.
  11. I believe there was a Globe article last week about it and why it's taking so long. https://www.bostonglobe.com/2026/06/29/sports/red-sox-garrett-crochet-shoulder-injury/
  12. If they really wanted Bregman, why wait until the last second to get that deal over the finish line? Just prioritize him and get it done early. If he's not on board, move on.
  13. I'm not sure that is the deal the other poster was trying to get to TBH. Low cost, two year? Sure. I just think Gray would end up signing for more than you'd want to pay.
  14. The problem is that BTV isn't great at deciding what works for a pennant race. When a playoff team needs a #2 like Gray, they aren't going to worry about WAR/$ as much as BTV does.
  15. Craig in July? Bloom did get Abreu and Schwarber. I'm trying to remember a good Breslow deadline deal.
  16. I don't know if I have Chatterbox anymore. That was on VHS. That movie is ridiculous for sure. I'm 99% sure I no longer have it as I don't have many VHS tapes left.
  17. The team that is 3rd in MLB revenues and is in a hub of the health care industry should have a better medical staff.
  18. The offseason needed to be Contreras AND another big bat. Move Masa/Duran and make room for Alonso at DH. They would have been better off doing that instead of signing Ranger IMO. (Yes, they should have done both, but we're talking about Henry here.)
  19. We are stuck with Henry and Henry is probably stuck with Breslow for the time being. He may have been better off sticking it out with Bloom when all is said and done.
  20. The problem is that he still built this team around pitching and defense. Contreras is great and the pitchers are great. However, this is a team that couldn't win at Fenway for a long stretch of time because of Craig's inability to put together an offense. They are 28th in runs. They are 30th in runs at Home. They are 30th in HRs at Home. It's really unbelievable how his vision on the hitting side is not seeing results. Whatever they are doing organizationally just isn't working.
  21. Currently 41-48 7/8/24: 49-41 7/8/23: 46-43 7/8/22: 45-38 7/8/19: 49-41 7/8/15: 40-45 7/8/14: 39-50 7/8/12: 43-42 7/8/01: 51-35 7/8/92: 38-42 If 7 games below .500 after July 4th doesn't get you to want to improve your team for next season, enjoy .500 in 2027 I guess.
